Endocet 10/325 Vs. Mallinckrodt
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I’ve gone thru several variants of Percocet 10/325 over the past 20 years, (7 C-spine surgeries and 3 lumbar spine surgeries, and still suffer horrible pain on a daily basis). Endocet is one of the only meds that works for me, doesn’t make me sick to my stomach, nor any side effects. (I haven’t had to have any increases in strength or amount of daily intake, so I’m pleased with the Endocet)...

But my cost has gone up to $159 for a one month supply (150 tabs), which is tough for me to handle financially. My ‘local Mom & Pop pharmacy’ suggested I try the Malinkrodt generic as it’s cost is much lower. I’m just concerned that it won’t work as well, or won’t agree with me. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with the Malinkrodt generic that you can share with me, please? Pharmacy is willing to give me 10 of them to try out, which I should do.

Any experience you may have had would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!

If you get it at CVS, you will pay $17.90 for 150 pills of Endocet 10/325mg.

Try GoodRX and you will see a major discount for your meds. Also SingleCare.

The Mallinckrodt worked well for me, when I took it after dental surgery, but we are all different, and I don't take opiates on a regular basis.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Ref: Medline Plus Endocet/Percocet

That said, have you tried seeing what it would cost with a prescription discount card?

I know, when we were waiting for our new insurance to kick in, it took the opiate that my husband was prescribed for his back injury from $164 down to $12.99.

There is a card on this site HERE that you can print, and try to see if it lowers the cost for you.

As to the one by Mallinckrodt, trying the 10 to see how it works for you is another good option.
