From what I've read on the topic of side effects, this appears be a very dangerous medication for anyone. Apparently, cases of life-threatening inflammation of the pancreas have been reported with the use of divalproex (Encorate) delayed-release tablets. Life-threatening liver failure has also occurred in patients taking divalproex delayed-release tablets. Although Encorate is not a delayed-release version of the drug, I think it is still very important to contact your doctor and report any stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite, as soon as your recognize any symptoms (for your own safety).
