it should say right on the information pamplet that comes with the medication, do not operate machinery this includes a vehicile, Ms-Cotin, or Avinza would be a better choice of pain medications , but they are costly, i was on duragesic patches same thing they made me extremely drowsy, the other 2 medications are the same a morphine sulfate, an have a extended release of 12 to 24 hours
Becarfull with those patches... was on them and did not like them. Not because they did not work.. because they are strong and dangerous!!!! DO NOT SHAVE THE HAIR OFF and apply one to the skin.. it irritates the skin and absorbers way to quick.. be cautious about your body heat and being out in the heat. I stopped using them because of the danger and they are VERY expensive !!!
I agree 100%!!! I almost died accidentally using Fentanyl patches.....! They were given to me by the Pain Specialists I was going to....I feel they did not use good judgement giving them to me for migraine headaches. I applied one to my left hip...up high near my waist...I never sleep on that hip because of pain. But guess what? It took the pain away...while sleeping I turned on to that hip...and the heat from my body gave me a huge dose...way too much.....! My husband found me cold and unresponsive in the morning. He panicked, had to revive me or I would have died....but never again. I quit the Pain Specialists........
I have been on the 75 patches with percocet for breakthrough pain for 6 yrs. They have given me back my life. Used correctly you should have no problems. I have not had to have an increase of either drug, also do p.t. And the spinal injections as needed. I have had no problems with heat releasing to much drug and I use a tanning bed for vitaminD and to combat SADD have also spent time hiking in NV in 90 degree heat with no problem. Everyone reacts to drugs differently, follow your Dr.'s orders and chances are you will do fine. After you know how you react to the drug you will know if you can drive, etc. I drive with no problem, do not have daytime sleepiness and function very well. I just don't want to see you scared off of something that could be right for you by these horror stories people post. Trust your Dr if you have a good one, follow his directions and good luck.
