Effexor Nightmares
UpdatedDoes anyone else awaken from their sleep almost in zombie mode while on Effexor? It usually takes me a good 5 minutes to completely collect my thoughts. Lol

Yes, that can be a normal side effect of most antidepressants, according to FDA reports. They can cause REM onset latency, which means it takes longer to enter the deep dreaming REM phase of slumber and you spend a shorter amount of time in it than usual. This can cause disrupted sleep, odd/unusual dreams, and difficulty awakening.
How long have you been taking it? I've found that things usually improve after a few weeks of taking them.
