Effects Of Long Term Codeine Usage

I take codeine 5mg for pain due to a pinched nerve. If I take 7/day I am pretty much pain controlled and can go about my day. My Dr. wants me go decrease that to 4/day, but even at 6/day my pain level is about 3. What would be the potential long term effects of 7/day?

According to FDA warnings, it can carry the risk of being habit forming, and it may cause liver damage, or failure, as well as kidney damage, or failure.

Are you taking straight Codeine, or is it coupled with Acetaminophen? What is your prescribed dosage?

Are you on any other medications?
