Effects Of Sulfameth Trimethoprim With Humira

How does this drug affect a person who is current taking Humira for RA? How long should a person be off Humira 40mg before taking Sulfameth/TMP DS Tab. Dosage 2 tablets twice daily.

There is really no specific time frame, the information just says to discontinue Humira for the time period you are taking antibiotics. It isn't that it causes a dangerous interaction, but that the Humira can make it harder for your body and the antibiotic to work and fight the infection.

Some doctors will have their patients stop Humira, while taking antibiotics to fight infection, but some will just prescribe a higher dosage of the antibiotics.
