Does Etoshine precipitate or exacerbate Papilloedema? Can it also raise your blood pressure?

My mother has been facing a severe pain around the kidney area for the past week (Wednesday). The doctor suspected presence of kidney stones and ordered an Ultrasound, which has come out completely clean. The pain however persists and she's been taking Voverone SR once each day to tide her by (since Thursday) i.e Jan 10, 2013. Last evening (Jan13,2013), she changed her medicine to Etoshine as it was recommended by a family member to be highly effective for pain. However, she threw up her entire dinner and was in excruciating pain once having taken this medicine. There is no clarity on what is wrong with her as the doctor seems to suggest calcium deposits on account of medication that she takes for Osteoporosis and she herself suspects it to be a muscle pull on account of something heavy she lifted the day before it all began. Would request to know if the medication she is taking is correct and if there are any other immediate measures we can take. She doesn't seem to be able to get up from the bed to visit the doctor. Should she simply rest it out or get it checked immediately?
Hi james,
Increased blood pressure and palpitations (unpleasant sensations of irregular and/or forceful beating of the heart) are actual side effects of this medication.
If it tends to persist or become too severe I would strongly recommend contacting your doctor about switching medications or possibly lowering your dose of Etoshine.
Other possible side effects that you may want to become aware of are:
-Weakness
-Fatigue
-Dizziness
-Headache
-Flu-like illness
-Diarrhoea
-Wind
-Nausea
-Indigestion (dyspepsia)
-Stomach pain or discomfort
-Heartburn
-Changes in blood tests related to your liver
-Swelling of the legs and/or feet due to fluid retention (oedema)
-Bruising
I hope this helps!
