Effectivity Of Nordette Contraceptive (Page 4)

Hi, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I went to my OB last week and she told me that I was ovulating. And then my boyfriend accidentally ejaculated inside of me. After 20hrs I took the first 4 pills, and took the next 4 an hour late (because I fell asleep). Help me please? Is there a possibility I could get pregnant? Please, I'm really scared.

Hi simplyme, may i ask if you have irregular cycle? Because you mentioned you did not have your cycle last august. anyway, if you took your nordette within 24-72 hrs with the right dosage, you may expect wdrawal bleed mostly 7-10 days at most. You are experiencing symptoms of hormonal changes brought about nordette right now. I would not consider pregnancy at the moment because i assume you had no contact between your lmp and august 30.

It was the first time that i dont have my mens within the month so i consider it already as irregular..I am getting paranoid thinking if i will be get pregnant or not..

Hello..I think i am about to have my withdrawal bleeding because since yesterday i have brownish discharge..Is this really a sign of having a withdrawal bleeding?or would i consider it as spotting or withdrawal bleeding already?

Hello. Most probably its the withdrawal bleeding from nordette. I say that because you had taken the dosage right. I would doubt if you took the nordette after 72 hours but since it was in the right time (24-72hrs after the deed), then chances are it is working. Update again.

Hi. I had an unprotected sex with my boyfriend last Sep. 1 and i took the pills tomorrow the day we had sex. I took only 1 pill around 9am(sept2) and i forgot that apat pala ang iinumin na pills so i decided to take another 4pills around 1pm and apat na pills after hours. Should i be worried? Kasi po namali ako nang pag inum eh. I had my mens last aug 10 and I'm still waiting to have my mens this month. Please replyyyy Thanks!

Hello itsmemerry. Usually for nordette to take its effect, 24-72 hours taken after the deed should be followed. 4 pills and another 4 after 12 hours that is. Thats within 72 hours total. In your case, you took it within 72 hours with 8 pills. Thats still valid right? We wait for your withdrawal bleeding to be able to assess further. Update again.

Hi itsmemerry. As of now, your stand should be about 85 sureball because you took it on the right time. Thats our confidence level right now. 9 pills is the right number of pills right? So that leaves 15 percent as our doubt value. Think positive. It helps.

Hi!finally i just have my withdrawal bleeding today..it is been the 8th day already..i am really happy and thankful that nordette is really effective..i am now sure that i am not pregnant..i will now start a new pack of contraceptive pills..thank you so much..

Hi simplyme. Its good to know. You can start the regular ocp so that your cycle will be controlled. Just remember ocps can also have side effects because they are hormones and you are taking it constantly. You can ask your ob for vitamins to go with it. Take care.

Hello everyone. I'm a bit worried right now. I had my period last August 7 and ended August 10. My partner and I had sex last Aug 15 and I took nordette the same day. My WB came Aug 23. My next period for September should be September 6 but until now I still don't have my period. Why is that? Should I use PT now? I need your help guys as soon as possible. Thanks.

Hi piaa. Always remember that taking ecp are hormones which are like instant foreign body injected to our system. That way, it would likewise affect your menstrual cycle. Some would experience irregular cycles after taking nordette but it will pass. You can check pt for peace of mind but i think if you had no unprotected deed again after the wb, it may just be adjustment on your cycle only.

Hi piaa. usually the wb is counted as your first day so it may be that your next mens wont be sept6 as expected since nordette changed your cycle and they are ecps which can alter cycles. What date did you do your unprotected deed? We try to compute what day of your cycle from that.

September 3. I've been using nordette as ecp for 4 times now and this is the first time that my cycle was ruined. Maybe this is the consequence of using the pill. Hehe. I don't want to be pregnant because I still want to enjoy wandering with my partner without thinking of our baby. Hehe

Hi rose. Ecps like nordette are meant to be taken within the first 72 hrs. After that time, the effectivity wanes. If you have taken it for the first 72 hrs after your deed and followed instructions, then the pill will work. There may be other ecps out there but i think in our setting/thread, discussion will be more focused on nordette.
