Effectivity Of Nordette Contraceptive (Page 12)

Hi, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I went to my OB last week and she told me that I was ovulating. And then my boyfriend accidentally ejaculated inside of me. After 20hrs I took the first 4 pills, and took the next 4 an hour late (because I fell asleep). Help me please? Is there a possibility I could get pregnant? Please, I'm really scared.

@crush 21 days of tablet and 7 days of tab free days. Within 7 days, Thats when you will experience wb. If this is your first time, your body is adjusting still. You will soon have the wb. With regular ocp taken religiously you are protected from getting pregnant no matter how many times you deed. Thats the difference between ecp and ocp for the info of others.

@calendargirl It's my 11th day after taking nordette. I'm having brown discharge since yesterday. Is this a sign of my upcoming menstruation? It is supposed to come today.

@kynie most probably. There will be no discharge whatsoever if you did not take anything. So its most probably or it is the bleeding from nordette.

@alvin protected sex will either meAn a barrier or a withdrawal method. Any act done with precaution will be deemed safe as long as it done well. If you are both active, she can opt for regular ocp so that her cycle will be regulated and you will hv more freedom with yourselves in the act. No more worries with being pregnant with ocp.

@calendargirl yes we done it well because we use condom and before i came i still pull out hahaha just to make sure haha and we are not active in having sex so using condom would be fine right?

@alvin just be sure to use barrier because sometimes the natural birth control methods are not reliable that much. Remember that using ecp everytime will alter or ruin her cycle not to mention some inconveniences. So use barrier PLUS calendar or natural methods. Wont hurt if you combine it.

@calendargirl yes we used condom yesterday and it is protected but even though we use condom i still pulled out hahahahaah so im sure its protected haha what i mean is. Is it okay that we done it after her wb/mestruation?

@alvin hmm yes its your freedom to do it anytime as long as you are doing on your good judgement and of course on the safe side Theres really nothing wrong doing it after the wb mens.

@calendargirl I had my menstruation last Nov. 23. We had sex last Dec. 2 and we used condom. It didn't broke or something. How would I know if I have to take nordette again?

@kynie. Dec2 would be day10, if you have regular cycle, it may be your fertile period. As of this time you are on 72 hrs already. Its up to you if you opt to take nordette. Theres no ruling here becoz its your perogative if you feel you need to take it. The only thing after you take it is the side effects. If you are worried about getting pregnant even if with condom, you can take nordette but live with the side effects. Condom is a barrier which protects you from pregnancy. If you are sure w condom usage, then i think no need for nordette because you may just be ruining your cycle again. So its your decision kylie.

@calendargirl I took 3pills of nordette just to be sure. It's crazy because I'm having white discharge just today. What does that mean? Btw, it's my ovulation day today. Is that because of it?

@kynie the right way to take the pills is 2pills first then another 2 pills after 12 hours. If you are sure of your contraception and you just took 3 pills altogether, then its just a matter of psyching oneself that you are safe. It may not be of use for contraception because of the lessened recommended dosage. The white dscharge may be part of your regular cycle. I think 3 pills may or may not be enough to have withdrawal bleeding or if it has an effect, it can alter your cycle.

@calendargirl so the white discharge does not mean anything serious? I am 99% positive that nothing went in me but there's this 1% that's really bugging me which is why I took only less of the dosage.. Btw, the 3pills were just the 1st dosage. I am now feeling the side effects..

@kynie the whitish discharge may be part of your regular cycle and its not of a worry. What side effects are you experiencing? Taking 3 pills in one dosage is not recommended for emergency use though. Ok it was a matter of that 1 percent prompting you to take it. Let me know what that side effect is.

@kynie the 3 pills altogether will make you feel unwell really but our main side effect and what we are all watching out for is the withrawal bleeding and for it to stop ovulation. Its natural for you to be nauseated and dizzy because 3pills really is quite strong. Expect it. If your intention is to just be psychologically safe, you are in a way because there was no condom break and you were 99 percent sure of it. So the 1percent is just a precautionary measure which is quite not helpful but since you have taken it. You just expect these undesirable side effects to occur but it will go away.

@kynie brown discharge may be the start of your mens bleeding day but when you took the 3 pills maybe your cycle will alter a bit or may not be altered.
