East Valley - Metro Phoenix - Need Doctor Who Is Not Afraid To Prescribe Tramadol
UpdatedHello. Even before Tramadol became a controlled substance I have found doctors are more reluctant to prescribe it and if they do are doling it out as if they were prescribing H. I know it is not for everyone, but it is my pain drug of choice and I've used it responsibly for years. I live in the East Valley region of Metro Phoenix in Arizona and I am looking for a decent doctor who won't be a hassle in terms of prescribing this medication or calling in refills to the pharmacy in between visits. If anyone could hook me up with a doctor who isn't afraid to prescribe like the old days, I'd gratefully appreciate it.

II don't know why any Drs are afraid to prescribe it. It did fly under the radar for years as far as pain killers go and it was a lot easier to get prescribed just a few years ago. I live in NY and a lot of Dr's actually preferred prescribing it over other more well known pain medications. It has gotten quite a bit of attention lately because of the fact that more and more people are coming forward about abusing it and its gained off-market value, as well as a class 4 scheduling. They won't be able to call in prescription refills any more as far as I know. My Dr told me that since it became a controlled substance here in August, I have to physically go to his office for a written script, but that's all that has changed for me. He still has no problem writing the scripts but I've also been going to him for nearly 5 years now and he knows I'm taking it responsibly and only as needed. Some states (maybe AZ too?) seem to be cracking down on it quite a bit lately though. Hopefully you find what you need and don't have to stress over it!
Doctors still don't need to give you a physical prescription for Tramadol. And they can call in refills or add refills still for it since it is only Schedule 4. At least that is the case in AZ. What I am finding though is many doctors here seem to be treating Tramadol now on their own as if it were a Schedule 2 drug, when it is still only Schedule 4. I have seen four different doctors this year because no one seems to want to see patients with ACA insurance around here and I keep getting bumped and have to find a new physician.
Also looking for tramadol I have been taking it for 5 years for arthritis and fibromyalgia now my doctor will only give me a months supply now with no refills. Told me I had to find another doctor to write my scripts. I live in NJ
Hi ebjb. I also had trouble finding Dr's in NJ who were willing to prescribe tramadol when i lived there. I actually would have to see a Dr in NY. If you're close to either the NY or PA border, maybe that would be an option? I lived in Northern NJ and would cross into Rockland/Orange county to get my tramadol...
Here in Texas, you can get refills. I stopped taking them about a month but my doctor keeps prescribing them to me. I'm frustrated that the dr's keep pushing this medicine even though I've made it clear that I won't take it. Anyway, I guess it's just a little different here with texas doctors.
