i have suffer from external piles. at times they become inflamed and swollen. My doctor prescribed anaerobyl 400mg. Does this medication treat piles or reduce the swelling

I have had external piles for the past 5 years. My doctor has prescribed Anusol suppositories as the major form of treatment. This has however not stopped the piles from coming out and getting inflamed. At some point he suggested that I go for an operation to have them removed. He however cautioned that this may not be a permanent solution as they may recur. Are there any other forms of treatment besides Anusol suppositories and surgery.
