Erythromycin is an antibiotic. It's used to treat many kinds of infection. (including pneumonia, skin infections, legionnaire's disease, and some sexually transmitted diseases. Other uses include treatment for acne (severe cases) and it may also help prevent heart problems for people with rheumatic fever.
