Hi Erin,

Based on the description provided, I located the pill to be Simvastatin (10 mg).

NOTE: You can see a photo of the pill in question by typing "S 4 red oval pill" into google images. It is manufactured by Accord Healthcare.

Simvastatin is used to control hypercholesterolemia (elevated cholesterol levels) and to prevent cardiovascular disease.
