What does EQ base stands for? Example is CADUET AMLODIPINE BESYLATE; ATORVASTATIN CALCIUM EQ 5MG BASE; EQ 10MG BASE. What does EQ and base mean?

It means that the given dosage works in the body equivalent to that dosage. You might see a medication listed as being 4.5mgs base, equivalent to 5mgs. Thus, this given substance in a lower amount works like the original in a higher amount, according to the NIH.
