Duexis And Heartburn

I have had trouble with all of the NSAIDS for years which I previously had taken for my arthritis. I started Duexis in September and have had good relief with only one a day. Recently the heartburn has returned. I am not sure if I should just stop, reduce it to every other day or third day, increase tums. Anyone with similar issues?

Hello, June! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.

You may need a higher dose of the Famotidine that this contains, or you may need to add another medication, such as a PPI like Prilosec.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Duexis as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and increased risk of bleeding.

Have you tried anything else to reduce the heartburn? Do you watch what you eat? Refrain from alcohol and acid or spicy foods?
