Drug Allergies

If I was allergic to Macrobid or macrodantin years ago ( I don't remember what kind of reaction I had), can I take the generic form of Bactrim? I had to stop taking Cipro because of sores in my throat and a severe sore throat.

Yes, this is a different antibiotic that is unrelated to the other.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
