Drug Strength

I was on .175 of Levothyroxine. I had a test done and the Dr. said my thyroid was too low and said I had to go up to 0.25. Is this a lower dose or a higher dose? Would it be due to high T4 levels or low T3 levels? I am confused. I've been steadly going up to the next dose each time I test. I've been at .175 for about 5 to 6 months.

Yes, 0.25 is a higher dose than 0.175. As to which levels your doctor is referring to, I have no idea, you would really need to ask them.

It is normal to try a certain dosage for several months and then make adjustments as needed, this is done with virtually any kind of medication.
