There is no harm in asking them why they told you to stop one. It is most likely because either your blood pressure, or heart rate is too low, perhaps both.
The typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.
And yes, there will be a period where your blood pressure and heart rate go up, after stopping the Losartan, but it shouldn't be a serious/dangerous raise, since you are still taking the other one.
