i've been on doxycycline for a little over 2 weeks now (100mg 2x daily) for lyme disease...about a week ago i started getting sick with what i believe is the flu (fever, chills, nightsweats, sore throat, nasal congestion, headaches, body aches, etc)..it's been 7 days of it with no end in sight...the headache is really debilitating...can i take a percocet for the headache while on the doxy? Also, is it ok to treat this with anything else (like herbs...echinasia, zinc, airborne, etc.)...I need SOMETHING (advil isn't touching it) ## first of all we are talking about a headache, so why would you take a percocet for that? i understand headaches can be bad and annoying but taking a percocet for a headache is ridiculous. percocet if for pain, like serious pain and im sorry but a he...

Hi can any buddy tell me what kind of pill this is. It's peach. Round .on one side it's says 100 the other side has nova With no lines on on each side ## Recommend taking the pill to your Pharmacist to check positive identification. A small round tablet, peach colour (might also be considered pink or light-orange), with no score mark on either side, imprinted on one side with '100' and on the other side with 'novo'. I believe this description is a match for "DOXYCYCLINE" (Doxycycline-Hyclate) - one of several prophylactic medications prescribed when entering a malaria endemic area. This dosage is usually taken once each day, starting one day before entering the a malaria area, and continuing daily throughout and for four weeks after departure.

Until i can get an appointment?? ## It is a broad spectrum antibiotic that can be used to treat various types of bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. However, the main issue is that you may not have enough to fully eradicate the infection, which could cause further complications, such as your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria and that could turn into a much more severe mess. Can you mix Doxycycline monohydrate 100mg with Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim DS 800-160mg without any side effects? ## All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, the FDA lists the ones for these antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. They may also be worsened, if both are taken at the same time. Has your doctor instructed you to take both of them? Are you on any other medications?

Can I take doxycycline 100 mg, oxycodone 30 mg, and a baby aspirin together? Is it a safe combination? ## That should be okay, as long as your doctor approves, but you may experience more side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation, and increased risk of bleeding. Have they all been prescribed for you? ## Yes they all are prescribed to me I just felt wired that night

what medication can you use for boils ## Hello, Norman! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Most boils are bacterial in nature and respond well to antibiotics. Some do well with topical ones, while for others a course of oral antibiotics might be required. They can cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Do you have a PCP you see regularly that you could consult for this? What have you already tried to treat them? ## Vaginal boil, my Dr gave me Doxycycline but now instead of bursting it swelling. Is it a site effect perhaps?

I have been taking doxycycline for 8 days for an autoimmune issue, but I think I am having a reaction. Although an urgent care Dr. treated me for my migraine only, said it's just a migraine and to keep taking doxycycline. I feel like I have the super flu on steroids along with a migraine that pales to the constant body and sharp pains. I've had migraines for decades and I refused to take the doxcycline today. If I can hold out til Monday I will call my Dr. Can anyone tell me how long this will stay in my body? I'm really hurting like something is wrong inside, but after the last trip I don't feel like riding for nothing. ## Those can be typical side effects of this medication, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, and diarrhea. What conditi...

I have acne and I took the pill, then I felt sick and I could see my veins in my body. I'm kinda scared. I don't know what this pill is and what the purpose of it is. Please get back to me with some information on it. ## This tablet is manufactured by the Lannett Company and they list it as contain 100mgs of Doxycycline, which is an antibiotic. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Was this prescribed for you? Are you on any other medications?

It's a green and white capsule from mexico. I think it is an antibiotic but am not certain. ## This sounds a lot like Doxycycline... or some foreign version of it. I've seen other trade names of Doxycycline that appeared similar to what you mentioned; however I get the sense that the spelling is always subject to change when obtaining medications from abroad or via unregulated websites. If you live in the US, I'd probably consider taking it into a local pharmacy to see if they have any way of analyzing its contents. If I had to guess though, 100mg Doxycycline (an antibiotic) seems like a high probability. Please post back if you come across any new information.

About a month ago I woke up with swollen eyelids, red eyes, no itching and had watery liquid coming out. The Ophthalmologist could not find anything wrong with the eyes and made a channel on the side of the eyes for extra fluid to drain. I was OK for a few days then both the swelling and redness came back. Went to a GP and he diagnosed me with a bacterial infection and prescribed doxycycline 100 mg two times for 15 days. I finished my antibiotic course two days ago but every morning the swelling of the eyelids (both upper and bottom) is worse in the morning and is gone by the afternoon, but the redness and watery discharge remains throughout. Again, the next day same issue. FYI - I don't have more crust upon waking up than I used to have before this condition developed. Please tell ...

Hi i have pimples on my skin i was given doxytet which is working fine nw my concern is my husband n i we are trying to fall pregnant will this pill affect this process should i stop taking them? ## Hi, Mislee! How are you? Doxytet contains the active ingredient Doxycycline and while it won't affect your ability to get pregnant, it shouldn't be taken while you are pregnant, because animal studies have shown evidence of it causing fetal toxicity. And since you really can't know the exact time you get pregnant, you should probably speak to your doctor now about either discontinuing it or using a safer antibiotic. Learn more Doxytet details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been on contraceptives pill i jst stopped taking them,i missed periods for two mont...

Taking doxycycline for a staph infection on surgical site. Day 2, no change. When should I see results? How long before it works? ## Hello, Kay! How are you? The general rule for antibiotics is that if the are working, you should not see any worsening after taking them for a full 24 hours, and you should start to see improvement after taking them for a full 3 days, according to general NIH reports. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Has there been any change, yet?

I'm in the first trimester of my pregnancy and was experiencing vaginal itching, even when I urinate. So I went to pharmacy and they prescribed me these capsules Doxytet and Anaerobyl, and also gave me topical cream Canalba. So I want to know if they are safe for pregnant woman? ## Hi Sharon, Are you referring to the medications Doxycycline and ANAEROBYL-GOLD (metronidazole)? If so, my research tells me that Doxcycline is only recommended for use during pregnancy when there are no other alternatives and the benefit of using the medication outweighs the risk. Doxycycline is considered pregnancy Category D medicine, which means that there is a high significant risk to an unborn baby. In regards to ANAEROBYL-GOLD (metronidazole), I've read that this medication is not recommended fo...

i have a bottle on date 8-13-13 and im wondering if i still can uses it thank u and does it help me wirh infection in the lungs as pnamonia ## Hello, Amy! How are you feeling? It is actually best not to use an expired antibiotic, they tend to start to lose effectiveness and may not properly eradicate an infection, which could create antibiotic resistant bacteria. This can also occur if you don't have enough of them to properly eradicate an infection, or if you take them when you don't actually have an infection. Has pneumonia been confirmed by your doctor? ## no i didnt go to dr but i have wheezing when i breath and i had fever wast sure if is virus ir other and the medication i have the one i mentioned before dont expired till 2017 ..thank u ## What is the shelf life of doxycyc...

I'm supposed to be taking two doses of 100mg of doxy twice a day for ten days for upper respiratory infection. On my third day, but have only taken it once a day due to forgetting to take my second pill each day. Does this mean that I won't get rid of the infection because I'm not taking it right? Is the one a day ok taking even going to benefit me? Should I still continue the next 7 days and try not to forget taking it twice? ## The medication does need to be maintained in your body at a consistent level to fully eradicated the infection. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Do you have a smart phone? How many doses does it take to treat a yeast infection at 1 in morning and 1 at night. How long does it take to clear up the yeast infection I have gotten from being on penicillin? Sorry not sure if spelled correctly, I was on that for my tooth but my body always gets them when I take them. ## This medication is manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and they list it as containing 100mgs of Doxycycline, which is an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections (NDC 53489-119). Thus, it will not help with a yeast infection, as reported by the FDA, it could also cause one, or worsen an existing one, just like the Penicillin. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. To treat a yeast infection, you...
