same here i have Rosacea as well, my scripts are for 90 days at the time. well when i went to get a refill Walmart didn't t have it in stock but ordered it. I went today to get my refill, it's now $180 for 90 days used to be $10 just 3 months ago. So i declined it. i have 2 types of the disease occular and skin pustules and pimples, not pretty.
I really don't know what i am going to do now.

Doxycycline comes from Streptomyces.. part of the Actinobacteria group. It is Tetracycline. Look up Tetracycline on Wikipedia.. Look at the section - "contraindications, side effects"... I think this is probably why its not so easy to get anymore. Anyway, I imagine the source for it is nearly infinite based on my research.
Also look up Streptomyces and go to the section "Antibacterials" and see Tetracycline in that list.. It should start to make sense now.

I was taking doxy 100mg for rosacea at $15 for 90 tablets at walmart (I'm uninsured), when I called in a refill it was $302! I was stunned, but my doc called in minocycline 100 mg for 90 pills @$30. Too soon to tell if it'll work better or the same, but it's worth the price reduction in my book.

when I couldn't get the doxy, my dr ordered minocycline for me also, no real probs with it but I don't think it helped as much, people noticed my cheeks were red, back on doxy now and looks much better, hope minocycline works for you.

I checked a Canadian Rx website, and they still had it for .49/capsule. Higher than my last refill, but a lot better than the one I gave back last night! I noticed that the same thing has happened with Tetracycline. I wonder what the agricultural industry will do, and how will it affect meat prices?

I just filled my dog's prescription at Walgreen's. She has an auto-immune disorder and this is the first time we've tried it. I was shocked at the $226 dollar price for 90 pills ($120 with the Walgreen's discount card). This is what the doctor prescribed and I am nervous for her health, so I paid it. If it works, I'll pay it because she's suffering right now. But it feels like I am at the mercy of the manufacturer.

Blame the price increase on the FDA crackdown on compounding labs...Unlikely prices will come down as a number of labs have been closed or are doing other drugs. I recently had a prescription filled at WalMart 20 100mg for over $100.

I was shocked by the price of doxycycline. I have a high deductible plan. I've been using an app called GoodRx. It's similar to a discount card. Using the app the price went from $169 to $25! GoodRx can also be accessed online. You simply print the card instead.

Jen, try another pharmacy and print out some prescription savings cards for un-insured. I just had 60 100mg caps filled, walgreens and cvs were cheapest and i used a savings card called RxRelief through Healthcare Alliance which cut the cost to $83. Not as cheap as im used to, but a little better than the $150 they quoted me.

I went online with cdc and fda both stated shortages and some discontinued, but there are 4 major companies that have it in stock. To me this sounds like THEFT to the consumers. As is supply and demand.

The RX coupon worked for me! I got 60 pills of the 100 mg Doxycycline Hyclate for $75. Would have been $160 without the coupon, and my insurance would have only knowed it down to $150 because I hadn't hit my deductable yet.
I take this drug in combination with Metro Gel, and the two have worked great to clear up my Perioral Dermatitis (kind of same thing as rosea), which I have had 3 times now in my 30 years of life. Clears up everything in about 60 days. $75 is steep; but it beats having herpes looking red spots around my mustache area. I don't care how good-looking you are, that just doesn't fly.

I asked my doc. to prescribe something cheaper for my son s doxycycline had become so expensive. He prescribed tetricycline - a much older prescription, When I went to pick it up it was $840 for 90 pills or a three month supply! No way!

I have taken Doxy many times in the past. I went in to pick up what I thought would be a $4 bottle of pills and was told I owed $325 for a one month supply! This is ridiculous!

I work at a pbm. when I tried for a 90ds on a gentleman's request for 150 mg of the generic, I recieved a total amount back as $1100+. This amount is starling to me considering that the rx used to be cheap.
