I'm supposed to be taking two doses of 100mg of doxy twice a day for ten days for upper respiratory infection. On my third day, but have only taken it once a day due to forgetting to take my second pill each day. Does this mean that I won't get rid of the infection because I'm not taking it right? Is the one a day ok taking even going to benefit me? Should I still continue the next 7 days and try not to forget taking it twice?

The medication does need to be maintained in your body at a consistent level to fully eradicated the infection. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.
Do you have a smart phone? If so, you can get free reminder apps that you can set to nag you, when you need to take your next dose.
Has there been any change to the infection?
