Doriden/glutethimide Availability (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Does anyone know where one could obtain glutethimide or it's brand name Doriden (CIBA Company)? Am in Canada where Doriden was discontinued in late 1980s and I was told Doriden discontinue was international. Perhaps there is now a generic form containing glutethimide available now as I would assume CIBA trademark rights would have by now expired. As the benzodiazapine replacement meds for Doriden are more addictive and dangerous (especially if mixing with alcohol & other drugs) it sure would be great to be able to go back to Doriden or glutethimide which were more effective and safer. A shame that the public was switched over to benzodiazipines (i.e. lorazapam, diazapam) when a better/safer product was available all in the name of profits and economics. Any help out there is most appreciated.

I thought this an excellent drug but it has been discontinued on the basis of its 'bad side effects' like so many other drugs discontinued because of some people misusing them - mostly part goers out for a night "out".

They are not legitimately manufactured in India or any other countries that I am aware of. Illicitely is another story.

Looks like the only company's I see online that are manufacturing it are bulk chemical companies. Found 1 in China and a chemical exporter/importer in the USA. I would imagine you would need to get clearance from authorizes before being able to acquire it and then you'd have to buy a 50 gal barrel.. AHHHHHH

Yes, they will custom manufacture anything for you, but to purchase it you need a DEA license. As far as China and India are concerned, they'll make anything and everything you can imagine, but getting it here is the hard part. There has to be some eastern European pharmacies that still have it laying around on a back shelf somewhere. I NEED GLUTETHIMIDE for Christ's sake!!!

Ive been on Methadone for almost 19 years and I consider myself clean. I dont believe in the 12 steps and since opiates were the only thing I was ever addicted to, I would jump at the chance to take Doridens at least once for old times sake. Ive seen the same websites you have seen, so just be careful you are dealing with an honest company. I dont trust someone who refuses to send a sample. I've received samples from most places I've used.If they wouldn't send samples. I wouldn't do business with them. Ive also been ripped off. I ordered adderal, lucky for me I figured that isnt whst they were. They were ultram.They switched labels.

Yes Patrice I am on MMT also for over twenty years now, and I am clean too. Although enticing I believe that they are scams, or will substitute some benzo for Glutethimide, or something far worse.

You are the same Patrice as in the past messages? I can't find any countries where Glutethimide is legitamittely manufactured according to the Martindale book. But I am not giving up hope.

I can remember taking so many Doridens I would see double. I would put my hand over my eye and still see double. Those were the days.

You must be around the same age as me since you know the same meds. There are a lot of rip off places on the net. I was lucky enough to have found the good ones in the early 2000's. They are all gone now. There is a place that actually offers Nembutal for assisted suicides. They offer yellowjackets. You and I both know that those haven't been made since the early 1980's. The last RX I got was in 1983. I feel bad for those who get taken.

Were Glutethimide and Codeine big in the Quincy, Mass. area too? They were very popular in the Newark, NJ area as well.

I'm from Ca. When luudes were taken away from us we started using doridens and codeine we called them loads. There were only a few of us that took them. Everyone thought we were crazy because we would be really messed up. I thought i would be dead before i hit 30. Fooled myself so far Im still here at 63.

One of us needs to hit te lottery and take a long trip to China for a few months. We'll have them mix up a drum and enjoy the hell out of it. Until then it looks like its only coming back when im dreaming.

I was addicted to dihydrocodeine at 14. I had no idea what addiction meant until my doctor retired. Doctors dont prescribe it anymore. As soon as Vicodin hit the market it disappeared.. What made it so addicting was the capsules had promethazine, and im sure you know, promethazine is an opiate enhancer. They were called Synalgos DC and they were great.

No, when i got them I think it was ciba labs. I have a PDR. I will try to find it and see many companies made them. I have a cool ad for Doriden. If i had your email i could send it to you.

Yes, they were based in NJ. I have a few old ads for Doriden too that I found online. I think that company DeLuisi Labs that used to make generic Glutethimide is still around.

I've seen some from China that will do smaller amounts of Glutethimide. About twenty years ago I got some Amino-Glutethimide thinking that would work with Codeine, of course there was no activity.
