Does Pain Killers Help Methadone Withdraws
UpdatedI have been taking Methadone for two years, but i want to get off of this medication and start taking Suboxone. Can I take Suboxone a day after I took my methadone? If not, can I take pain killers to help with the methadone withdraws until I start taking the suboxone?

No, in order to start Suboxone, whether for drug addiction, or for pain, you have to be in full active withdrawal from all other narcotics.
Suboxone contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone. The Naloxone helps neutralize other opiates to prevent their abuse, when someone is using it for addiction treatment. If you take it too close to the time period you are taking other narcotic analgesics, it can throw you into dangerous withdrawals.

Is there anything else I can help with?
I missed my clinic today and I am on 80 mg of methadone so I bought 8 10 mg pills but I never took them before are they gonna work the same as my reg clinic visit or will I still feel sick cause it's not the actually liquid????
Nanina, the answer to that question is no, as long as they are truly that medicine, just no that the liquid is absorbed more quickly into the blood stream. I would caution you thow that 80mg of Methadone is a high dose...if I were you, I would try to manage cutting down a bit. I speak from experience...Methadone has that cumulative affect, it doesn't take much to destroy the liver, as well as accidental overdosing! I speak from experience! If you are truly serious about staying clean, I would suggest Suboxone treatment as an alternative to Methadone!
Yes you can take the #8 10MG methadone pills.. THEY ARE THE EXACT SAME THING AS THE LIQUID THAT YOUR GIVIN AT THE CLINIC... The only difference is when taking a pill it takes up to 30/45 minutes to dissolve ' enter into your bloodstream; where when you "Dose at the Clinic" the liquid version only gets into your bloodstream much faster....
The general wait is 18 hours and you should be good to go.its not just suboxone that stops withdrawals. Others work well as HiRotation slightly lowers tolerance. Codeine does not work but dihydrocodeine does.
