Does Omeprazole Contain Pain Medicine?

I just started taking omeprazole 40 mg today and it's making me a little sleepy. Is that normal?

It does not contain pain medication, it is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to help reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach, but yes, drowsiness, can be a normal side effect, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, and flatulence.

Are you on any other medications? Why was it prescribed for you?
