Does Methocarbamol Cause Weight Gain? (Page 2)

My wife started taking this drug 4 months ago and has been gaing weight-we think it is from the drug?

I have been the same weight for an extended period of time. After starting methocarbomal I quickly added on 40+ pounds. I am going to stop the methocarbomal and see if the weight comes back off. This is the only thing I can attribute to the weight gain

I had spinal surgeries over the past few years. My doctor put me on methocarbamol for the past couple years and I have also gained weight. I took myself off of it about a week ago. I am starting to see a change. I'll be glad when the extra pounds are back off. I will adjust to taking no muscle relaxers.

linda (# 1)- Weight gain and high cholesterol are not side effects of this medication. She should always read the printed information that come with her prescriptions after each refill. In case of any changes or additions that have been added to drug reactions or interactions. Weight gain can be caused by getting older,thyroid imbalance, menopause,etc. Also high cholesterol is usually inherited by family.My spouses parents both have high cholesterol. My spouse does as well. Also discussing these things with your physician is recommended. A lot of even healthy foods have cholesterol (nuts). Do to pandemic and not moving around and going out as much as you previously did or increase in more food than normal bc your home more can be a cause as well. As a nurse these are just some of the things I would look into. This is just a basic list. I hope this helps.

Me 2 ,I thought it was just me ,I'm a health freak, since this medication ,I been gaining, feeling hungry all the time ,and my legs get so swollen I can barely walk or hard 2 get out of my bed ,I know it has 2 be the meds ,that's the only thing I been doing differently ??

I agree and disagree from not being active so much may cause weight gain yet since I started taking methocarbamol 750 mg I seem to be putting on the weight rapidly which I have never had a problem with so I do believe methcarmol does make one gain weight

I think it does make u gain weight.
I started taken them and my laying around at times hasn't changed before and after taken them
I weighed 155 and after 3 weeks ive gained 15lbs. And i never gain weight

I've also have been on methocarbamol 4 about 5 mos and went from 128 to 132 so I think it does cause weight gain.
