Does Liquid Amoxicillin Actually Go Badord?
UpdatedHi, I was just wondering if liquid Amoxicillin actually goes bad & could possibly harm someone, or does it just lose its potency? For example, liquid Amoxicillin kept in fridge the whole time, not quite a month old...there's no expiration date anywhere on the bottle, & there was extra left over after it was administered correctly for 10 days. Does it "go bad"/spoil like a food would? Thanks!

Hello, Ricky! How are you?
Yes, it can go sour and, while it wouldn't actually be harmful, it could cause nausea, vomiting and stomach cramps, if taken once expired, as reported by the FDA.
Most liquids are only good for a few weeks, but the pharmacy should be able to give a more precise date.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Amoxicillin is actually only good for up to 14 days after it has been made into liquid form.
