Tammy, Is gluten a wheat product? Check on WebMD list of medicine, may have contents for you.
Tammy, probably a stupid question, but did you check the medication links on this website? Usually very helpful
Hello, Tammy! How are you?
What are the markings on it? That information is the only way for me to be able to determine the correct manufacturer to find the correct ingredients list for you. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you!
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Verwon, Is gluten a wheat byproduct?
I have been on oxycotin for years and mow the insurance is giving me a problem. I am gluten and soy intolerant. The Docter prescribed me oxycodone and the pharmacist will fill it with actavis. I get horrible reactions to gluten and soy. Can I take this?
I was just prescribed Actavis hydrocodone acetaminophen yesterday but it was after hours and I couldn't reach the manufacturer. In researching online, I found that it used to be Watson. They also recently acquired Allergan. So it may say Watson, Actavis or Allergan. I am Celiac and have not had a problem taking the one labelled Actavis. If it had gluten, I would have known in the first 15 minutes. If you have sensitivity to other inactive ingredients, Google 'inactive ingredients X' where X is the drug name. I also have problems with sulfates, sulfur, sulfa and sulfites. Hope this helps others.
The minute Watson hydrocodone Acet. 5 325 changed to the Actvis Manf... I was soooo sick. Glutened by this drug and Manf. Severe stomach and severe/horrid headaches. If a pill has corstartch, potato, or rice ingredients I'm fine.
It made me nauseous and gave me a migraine but I didn't get my usual glutening responses. Wow. I stopped taking it though. Sorry you had a bad reaction. :(
Dont you think you should be more concerned over hydrocodone instead of Gluten?
Tammy, The definitive source for gluten in drugs (Rx or OTC) is glutenfreedrugs.com. If your particular drug is not listed there, go to the bottom of the page where the contact information is, and write to the webmaster. His name is Steve. He will answer you within one day! And since you have a gluten issue, keep this site for further investigations.
Yes....I was in terrible pain after oral surgery. But hated the hydrocodone and gave it up after one dose. Don't like anything with codeine either - same reaction. Being Celiac, I also have to avoid gluten.
I have heard same pill and I took it today, and I got it got it last week so I will know what my pills are
I would like proff that I'm taking the right medication.
No! Gluten can cause a horrific reaction on top of the pain being treated.Certain allergic reactions can be life threatening! We should. consider allergic reactions.
I didn't like that pill 2172 white oval i had a month ago,and now i had to take a p ee test at the drs yesterday and my urine was neg ,it was suppose to be dirty .and now i have the right pill for it it white and pink dots . .
Thanks
That was the most ignorant thing to say. You obviously don't know the first thing about Celiac Disease or gluten intolerance. Safe pain management for Celiacs, or anybody with allergies, is a serious issue. You need to keep your stupid mouth shut, and your fingers off the keyboard.
good post; But I think the hyperparamellose in it is our gluten/celiac sprue problem.
Activas generic for Norco. 5/325 with white oblong pill scored and w 2172 from Walgreens. I called Walgreens to get excepients...include cellouse (probably not vegetable based, but unknown); Hyperparamellose, magnesium sterare. I think those of us with allergies/celiac sprue are suffering from these lab additatives. I recall paramellose can have gluten in it.
Re: Preston (# 9)
the only concern is the companys are not putting enough hydrocodone in the pills to help relieve pain!
