Does Neurontin Turn Up In A Newborns Mecomium?

Just wondering if Neurontin will turn up in a newborns Mecomium? I have been on them for years for fibro. Since being pregnant my doctor has told me to stop taking them and I just can't for the pain. I know that it isn't scheduled or a controlled substance. But I'm still very worried. Please somebody help!

It isn't that it's a drug they are going to check for, after the baby is born.

I'm thinking your doctor told you to stop taking it due to the risks it can cause to your baby. The FDA has placed it in pregnancy category C, which means they've found evidence of fetal toxicity, they explain it as being delayed ossification of several bones of the skull, vertebra and limb. Other abnormalities in newborns have also been noted in animal studies.

It would be best to let your doctor know that you've still been taking it, so they can watch for any possible problems and possibly help you stop for the rest of your pregnancy.
