Doctors Willing To Prescribe Pain Medication In Georgetown Ky (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have been seen by the lexington va for 2 years now with constant back pain. I've had shots and therapy for the pain. The only thin my PCM is giving me is tramadol which I have been on for 2 years and is just not doing anything to help.
Please anyone that can lead me to a cash doctor, I'm looking for a Subutex doctor to do monthly prescriptions of 8mg Subutex. ive tried suboxone tablets and strips and he had to put me on 24mg of Subutex everyday but that was a clinic and I'm disabled and it was costing me $1134.00 a month, an hour an a half drive everyday to Roanoke with family. help I lasted on an off for a year an I thought it stopped pain. I was misled, lied to. my PM Doctors didn't no why I stopped going. I was on 360 roxys for breakthrough pain an 2 60mg oxy 12hr but my tolerance was too high so I went to see what I could do. migraines badly on suboxone tabs an strips but slightly in beginning the headaches left 24mg of Subutex everyday. so I need a monthly doctor in the Lynchburg/Roanoke Virginia willing to travel few hundred miles there an back if I had to but anyone plz I need a good fair priced Subutex doctor that will prescribe Subutex on a monthly basis. close will do but a small ride that will be okay to cause the right amount of mgs I was on did work. I almost felt normal again. now on 16mgs that only lasted till 2 to 3pm so 6 to 7hours after dosing I'd start having cravings an a lot of sickness an rage till I could find 4 to 5 roxys 30mg most times but to me when I could pay an dose I noticed my life coming back. I was back doing what I like fishing, hunting. it got me up an out of this dark house and after my money, my families money. now I'm headed back down that dark path. I want this dragon off my back and do what I like to do instead of searching high an low for hard to get and find 15 to 30mg roxys. you can reach me at {edited for privacy}. I hope somebody can help me by persons word of Dr or any Dr that wants to contact me plz do so you can save a life not lose one, as I'm headed down that dark path. thanks Men in Virginia hope to hear good news soon. thanks have a good day.
I live in central Ky. I have was a LPN and in 1995 injured my back badly catching a pt. falling out of bed in a long term facility..I herniated L5/S1 ruptured L4/5. A failed surgery in 99 at 32 y/o..I was taken off work and put on perm. Disability in 97, I also have fibromyalgia, migraines, in 2003, was hit twice in auto accident, C5/6 bulged and indented into spinal cord, I had a fusion.. Over the years (the Dr said it happens alot when surgery at young age), now I have herniated or ruptured discs from L2-S1, C3-C7(except fusion at 5/6) also a couple in thoracic, Deg. disc disease, now lumbar and cervical spinal stenosis, nerve imping., neuropathy, osteoarthritis in literally every joint I have, (knees, hip, 1 hip replaced last year, feet, hands, elbow, shoulders, even in my jaw joints), arthritis in entire spine, facet joints, RSDS, TMJ, carp tunnel w/nerve and muscle damage, sciatica, irritable bowel, GERD, ovarian cyst disease, and when I had my hip replaced last year was told I have had hip dysplasia all my life (no-one found, hmm. explains alot)..I have been under care of same neurosurgeon since 1996, see a specialist for fibro, have ortho sugeon.. I have been in 3 pain manage. Since 1999, the only one I was dismissed from was in 2002 for not 24hrs prior rescheduling 2 appts... I didn't just miss, I called to reschedule.. The last one I left on my own, they had started out giving me what I came on(lot tab and methadone) they gave me slot of inj's (considering the neuro Dr said slot of them weren't beneficial to me been having for over 10yrs), I was honest about pain, they use get mad if what they did didn't stop pain (I'll never be pain free) but did up to oxy and methadone.. Basically after a few yrs, within 6 mos, my Dr changed 3 times like revolving door (the staff and Dr who owned practice were a*******.) no drs stayed, I ask them to change the methadone (it was rotting my teeth according to dentist oral surg.), long story.. Lol.. They pretty much said keep methadone or find someone else..I thought, they aren't only drs.. I had no idea what these laws had done, I had never had to find a Dr was always refered.. Never missed appt, never fail u/a's, have MRI's done every 2 yrs, have all records from all spec./pain dr/PCP..all I've even had random med count from ones who it was policy, always fine... Now I can't find treatment.. My neuro has called a couple pain centers when he says I'm no longer candidate for A LOT of inj's.. They tell my neurosurgeon they can't help me... 17 yrs of reg. Inj's of all kinds isn't healthy.. I don't mind facet joint objects yearly.. Sorry for the long post but can someone help me.. I am willing to travel outside central KY.. P450, I noticed your well informed and have helped a few.. If you know anything or anyone please, I would greatly appreciate any info. We all have to stick together, if not.. No-one will.
I have never taken suboxone or subutex, I have many chronic pain conditions have had many years so even though I considered sub Dr out of desperation, they wouldn't see me said I needed pain manage... But while checking around, I found a friend of my son gave me names of several sub drs in Louisville My and their monthly fees ranged from 250-350 most had an initial charge of 500 then lower after that.. Also they got his med pre authorized with medicaid/passport will any insurance.. But they won't give over 3/day in Ky... But Medicaid he says pays for that many, usually a 28day scrip. Whatever that is and he said all he pays is like $3 copay... If your interested still I can get the exact names again and send you..he is my son's best friend so no problem getting the info.
Methadone bro! There are several clinics if you go saying you have an opiate dependency problem, bam you're in....just pee with em in ya...methadone helps great with pain too....I take 120mgs a day and was on oxycoodone.....it works.
There are no new regulations stating only pain management drs can treat chronic pain. Although many drs prefer not to treat it. You can try another primary care dr or you can ask your primary care dr for a referral to a private pain management dr.
As a knee-jerk response to pain medication addiction, some states, like KY, have now regulated allergy medicines and cough syrup. As an older person with numerous health issues and the victim of even more joint surgeries, is pain management the only option for acquiring a pain medication? Also, what are the states not yet on board with National CASPER? Check your medication history once in a while. Many are inaccurate. It's nearly impossible to correct but at least you'll know. Good luck and pain-free living to all.
There are also petitions at change.org also moveon.org and also check website for US Pain Foundation (they will have access to link to another petition also)..the website of National Pain Institute also has some great up to date articles benefiting change of these laws.. Just to let ya know.
What's the name of these docs in ky? I live in indiana and have in bcbs medicaid but can go to some places in ky, willing to pay monthly fee as I see a referral site online for same, too old for the BS, have verified conditions with fresh mris and xrays, no problem with u/a's or compliance. I had a doc in new albay indiana who left there and never found help again. I don't expect the amount I was on or any cocktails, just enough to ease pain to function, just about any opiate works. 10mg oxycodone or hydrocodone 3 or 4 a day and I'm good, can still beat myself up at work like a man jobs, without and I'm on disability, either taxpayers pay my salary or I have meds and can make my own. It's just a shame that people in pain can't get help. We aren't all addicted. I quit cold turkey myself off 3 way opioid, benzo, soma; I must have been a fool right? No, my body told me I needed a break. 10 or 12 mo later I'm getting 2 5mg hydos max, even from a pain clinic. 200 people in there and it's a zoo with 6 waiting rooms!
I'm with you! It's sad ppl with REAL problems can't get help. I've even tried the stuff made from marijuana and it's a joke! I've been through the mill, inj's. sent me into a full blown pain episode. I'll never do that again and the Dr's are treating everyone as pill heads even if you have proof of problems. Got to be something we can do to get the government out of the Dr's office. I don't want to go to street drugs!
Due to the new regulations that have been put in place, if you're looking outside of the VA, you'll need to see a pain management specialist to possibly have anything stronger prescribed.
Have you tried asking your doctor to refer you to someone that can help more?
Most VA's have their own pain management clinics. Have you tried that, yet?

I've been on opiates so long. I'm in Virginia this side of Lexington. ive tried to stop but that's not happening, so I'd like to find a good doctor to prescribe me Subutex on a monthly basis and give me the right mgs as I've tried Suboxone tabs an strips with no success. they gave me major migraines so he took me off those and back on my opiates but not even close to what I was on. so its like I'm taking them just to not be sick, but it has minimal benefits for helping all my pain. I got medicaid and medicare but my insurance only wants to pay for 24 8mg subutex a month and when I first tried to stop opiates I went to a clinic. I was on 2 8mgs and had to go there everyday but Sunday and it was costing me $1134 a month and on 1 check a month that didn't last but so long. but I can't find out like if I got 4 a day cause on 2 i was craving opiates. I'd dose around 7am to 9am an started craving an hurting by 2 to 3pm. Does anyone know how much cash a monthly script say of 4 a day cost without insurance? I'm sure they're expensive but I might be wrong. Thanks. Hurting in VA.
What area of Virginia? I am in Hampton Roads and know about this area well! Getting difficult to get meds from a lot of doctors. I also have a few names of doctors in Richmond area. Where are you. Best wishes
Kenneth
They prescribe in Va beach and Portsmouth Virginia. I have a # but haven't called about it. I have a list of 3-4 drs giving suboxone .
He's not in your state but not that far away either. He takes new patients only if they are looking for subutex. His names Dr. Stimpson in Loudon County, Tennessee. The city is also Loudon. He likes to write plenty too. Hope you can find a way there. Yes he takes medicaid and medicare.
Yes please, Kentucky isn't that far from me and that info would be greatly appreciated!
Re: Verwon (# 1)
You got be a veteran to go to their pain clinic
Kenneth one of the addiction psychiatrists who caters to insurance and employers so real people like you pay CASH who does this drug is Paul Spector in Chesterfield, Virginia right outside of Richmond.
I would never refer a pain patient to him but for what you want you are on the money.
He passes himself off as Mr. Brilliant he is a loon. But you know if you go for these type treatments in this political setting you will find it less than possible to obtain a proper pain management physician again.
Do you mean Lexington (original poster) Veterans, or Virginia? And as SH stated there are no good doctors in Richmond.
Kenneth I hope you got what you needed but it sounds like you had a physician or more then one willing to write in the Commonwealth of Virginia (opioids) it would help many here due to regulations to have the names of these physicians.
If you drop by please drop their names so we can spread the wealth.
Thanks, peace out.
