NJShore-cannot believe dr. do surgery with immune lowered....soo dangerous-my sister-in-law has disorder whereby she permanently suppressed immune system so when she has to go to hospital she is in danger-bad situation. I feel for ya, from what I hear symptoms are harsh w/crohns.uggghhh. I am on east coast FL not west-richey is west- what is little road etc? Zip 32169-Idk what am doing wrong but drs. keep taking my money then saying cant help me. Should be illegal? Only reason I feel wont help is extreme hysteria of license loss. Actually that is a justifiable fear yet is wrong to those of us in need to be left suffering since dr. cannot treat with meds. Insane control by our government. I even have spoken to hospice nurse-they no help either.I have found most pain drs. now left practicing are interventional not medical management which means they do not prescribe only do procedures, shots, pumps, stimulators, etc. Guess medical mgt. drs. have left state or just closed down. I am in DIRE NEED now since my primary wont write another month for me due to law. He allowed one ER month to help me find new pain dr. but will get in trouble after that. Not sure if all states that way but FL is-I have cut back but now am in such condition cannot function or focus or do anything which means I am gonna run out without being able help myself.UNFAIR.....HELP PLEASE. Am sending email to Robin OK?
Thanks anyone with info for Florida central east coast area PLEASE....

cyn mcdonald, You are SO right about MAPS "Pain" Clinic in Minnesota. They cost me my career & family back in 2006. Their "psychologist" LITERALLY told me the following: That if opiate-related pain medicine is the only way to treat your pain & make you a functioning member of society, in career & in family, you are "better off" being completely disabled by excruciating pain. I wouldn't believe it had I not heard it. And in MN, there were progressive laws in force requiring pain treatment! But even the co-drafter of that bill, a Dr., would only set me up for an acupuncture appointment weeks later, tho I was in debilitating pain Right Then. Frauds. At MAPS they will trick you out of money. I agreed to a spinal block procedure of some sort & ended up paying $1,000s in surgical deductable BECAUSE THEY USE A SEPERATE DOOR AT SAME LOCATION to alter the billing code W/O ever informing you ... till it's time to pay them for no help received. They ignore your record, assume you're a junky, disregard your family & career (law ... at the time), & have eyes only to make the primary owners/"drs" $$$--I think Steven something was the main "Dr." & he was living large on the backs of the ill-informed suffering masses.

Any new Dr will want a copy of your medical records. You medical records will than likely prevent any pain Dr from accepting you as a patient. If you have a PCP you may want to talk to them and see if they can explain the situation to a pain Dr who may accept you. If you are able to find another Dr, you need to listen to what your Dr says

I am a disabled female 41 yrs old and I have several back problems to include 7 bulging disk,2 in my neck, one laying on my spinal cord and causing pain and numbness in my right arm. I was seeing a pain management dr in charlotte and he increased my oxycodone from 10mg to 15 mg, I went to the pharmacy to fill and apparently I was supposed to break one of the 10`s in half and use them up before I got the 15`s filled and a pharmacist called the dr and told him I said I was gonna discard my current medication, and the dr called me from his personal cell phone to let me know that he would not be writting for me anymore because I tried to obtain meds too early,so now I am cut off of fentenyl patches and oxycodone 15 mgs so now I am searching for a "good" dr that listens to you and who isnt affraid to write narcotics, when I became disabled in 2010 the dr`s all agreed that I would need pain medication for the rest of my life,so far I went to 2 different dr`s and one dont write any pain meds and the other referred me to a pain clinic that is refussing to see me for some unknown reason, anyone that knows of a good dr please, please get back to me asap, and god bless you,it`s a shame we have to go thru this cause of a couple of drug addicts that ruined it for everyone that really does need the meds, thanks again.

I also suffer from a spine injury i received while performing heavy construction tasks as a member of the electrical union in NJ. I was able to receive surgery for the major Damage to my spine at L-4 L-5 L-5, S-1. I was given a spinal fusion using what's called a viper system using Titanium rods plates n screws. I still suffer from chronic pain as a result altoygh i do admit the pain is not as severe as before the surgery. Yet i do suffer from enough chronic pain that i canot function day to day without 60-120mg of narcotics a day along w a 72 hour patch to keep the withdrawal symptoms away. Due to the new laws the DEA has the Professional Pain Management n to be fare the honest Doctors who understand chronic pain n are not willing to alloe u to overmedicate or treat patients who are just obsessed opiate jjunkies are being bullied n forced to not treat 80% of their patients due to fear from threats of being audited n being stripped of their medical lisence, fined heavly, n even jailed. With all the fear those threats bring 99% of all pain specialists choose the safest road to keep the DEA away n choose to no longer treat most patients with chronic pain going against all they have been taught due to fear from these govt agencies. Meanwhile my life comes to a halt n is now very unmanageable n i assume they would rather force me into the streets to find medication on the blackmarket n then throw me in jail so the business of incarceration may flourish. Not for me i guess my life will be very painful n unproductive forced not to work n live which will no question turn into a mental illness n spend the rest of my days in a psychatric unit. Please soneone hear my cries for help n allow me to live my life sanely ,productive, and a member of the community w dignity n self love n respect whiich they are consciously stripping me of , please Dr.'s make a stand n protect your patients in your community from having to live in hell. And to those govt agencies enough already n give the Doctors some room to use their intelligence n expertise to make important judgements for themselves without the constant fear, im sure their is a happy medium ground to be found which will allow Dr. To treat patients in need n make the right moral decisions as long as their records reflect this. Thx for your consideration.

Very interesting stories from ppl like us prove that some of the tests given for prescription pain management confirmation are giving false positives not just here and there but a high percentage of false positives or false negatives.

@Mary in Fl if you are already on a pain contract, but you have constant nausea and "cycling" where I vomit can't keep anything down..the longest duration I've had is a week. fger 3-4 days keeping no meds or fluids down withdraw and the worst pain sets in. In Co the hospital would help me with a few pills and IV of pain meds and phenagran. Here in Fl they give me a hard time just getting fluids back in per request of the ER doc. So I suffer. With proof of everything and telling them that you are not here for pain meds although the last time I could keep a pill down was 4 days prior. It's like if you happen to have an additional injury for example breaking a finger or toe bone, you just feel so screwed down here. Because of my pituatary cyst and its amazing hormones that are unbalanced nausea and vomiting are a part of the diagnosis and symptoms and it sucks. I did read your post and what you too struggle with. You Re correct to say its lil walking on egg shells and if there's a crack you're fired!! Fortunately up north my pm Dr didn't make me sign a contract. They would check your pdmp before rx Ing your monthly script. I was always honest when I had go to ER for help. I tried the fentanyl patch it was just too strong. My metabolism didn't work well with it and it was always falling off. So the Fentanyl patch can be a real help with patients with tummy problems and if their body metabolizes with if. I would also make sure that I tell front desk ivd been to the ER and when I told the doc id make sure the nurse was present. Just in case. Even after all of that covering my butt a pharmacist called my Dr. And told him about every 3 months or so I would get 10 pills. My Dr was understanding and with diagnosis it makes sense. I wasn't I. The ER too much, but what is too much? Are we supposed to tell our hormones hey ?? this is too many times in xx amount of months that you have been torturing me so body could you stop misfiring too often? Down here in Fl my docs hands would be tied, but I will accept an IV of a med but not ever fill a prescription. I can only imagine ppl who have worse problems than I have the DEA OR FDA ,IDK who " they are" but the powers that be could really mess up a legitimate pain patient s life. Having them fired over a possible conflict in personality between the pharmacist a customer. Like I've said before many times in this forum I understand something had to be done about the pill mills and deaths from overdose, now things have just gone too far. Ppl find a Dr or pm to write the rx after u/a s recent MRI s xrays, then to go to 10 different pharmacies in which 5/10 have the medicine but wont dispense it because its at have the right to to refuse service then the others really don't have the med because its on back order and they barely have enough to fill for their established patient / customer. I apologize about ranting but the just of your post is how a clinician will drop u like a bad habit...Good luck to you. You have the respect and understand just how sensitive a pain contract can be. ppl are being fired left and right for failing u/a's that have had studies done on them and the diagnostics are not yielding correct results. A lot of false readings and a lot of patients on fentanyl patch and the drug is not coming up in u/a's. I will reply another post to state my resources. It's a great study and its showing legitimate ppl taking their meds and being evaluated with faulty diagnostics.

@Chris an updated xray is acceptable. Headpain is the worst. When you can't think or recall something you said the day prior ( short term memory is shot) if it weren't for the welbutrin helping my concentration I'd really be in bad shape!! You have my word, that I too am going to find a Dr / pm clinic closer to you. I'm not a native Floridian so I had to look at the map and see where D. Beach is at. As you can see I replied to a post with plz anybody with any Dr info in fl plz help. I would like to post / start our own Fl thread I just haven't figured it out yet
if you look at the forums you see the zColorado one. I want to post a separate titled forum for Florida Dr. S. / pm clinic

Wow CO to FL even with all my skeletal, immune probs the pain I hate worst believe it or not is a headache-maybe cuz my brain is only thing I feel I can be proud of??!! At least used to be, now pain signals push thru making me a forgetful, blithering i**** most time. (Or leave me in zone where don't realize world around me). Anyhow life w/o pain meds is being a vegetable writhing most the time. Broken bones rubbing together even when breathing from knees, forearms & back so whole body involved. Question-these drs. are asking for MRI-but my broken bones really don't require that do they? Except spine maybe that understandable, but my forearms are simply snapped in half non-union since wont grow back & knees turned sideways with patella on side of leg instead of front so why MRI for rough images-no tiny obscure areas involved really. Ins. not cover so very expensive test if not useful. PLEASE HELP ME FIND PAIN DR IN CENTRAL FL!! I do not want to become an animal vegetable in pain. Why wont drs here take Hippocratic Oath to heart as they should? I hate this so much esp since brain not working like it should so cannot come up with options....

Thanks for help,
Chris-Daytona Beach, FL

To Chris keep asking! I will too. Also next month at my appointment I will ask my Dr. Who he would refer me to if I were to move to the area in which you reside..the Livechat is something I've just learned of but with head pain ..noise doesn't agree with me. I have 3 kids fiance (way awesome, very patient with me as I've been suffering) I have 3 cats aaaannndd 3 dogs no more pets for me. !!! I love ? animals, seems they end up coming to me in need of a home...anyway we are all residing in a small apartment. We uses to have large 3/2 Condo..so life is a challenge in every way....i just can t take any noise. I rarely talk on the phone have no friends. Wish I could get my vet tech. Certification. I have college credits and years of Certified Nurse s aide experience..but i have a pituitary cyst that is not causing any damage to my optical chiasm, its just the symptoms constant head pain Heavy and irregular menses cycle, sooo surgery at this point is, more risky, it could come back and I'm still researching the issue. Well I've not stated all my dx s, i am on disability and have 2-3 other challenges (diagnoses) i just wanted to state minda what i go through

Hello all. If you know of a Pain Management clinic in Fl. Please post any info. If you know if they take insurance etc. I do understand its tricky / scary ?? giving out that info. I gave my pm name out , but its because I know they will catch the abusers. They u/a Darn near every month. They check your arrest history. In addition I know you must have updated scan, MRI etc. Basicly I know its not a pill mill.

@Chris sorry, I just saw ppl start posting about the online thing. Yes it would be a long drive. I have other info but this Dr is a 2 month wait. The 120 mg thing, I hope I for new patients. I've posted what I've seen and know what my friend gets, I would feel horrible if u got to Tampa and they don't increase your meds back to what they were. If you have recent proof of you prior dose I think they'll give it to ya. Hopefully you will get a good response from a fellow Floridan resident however I was I Co. And in that thread we felt each other out and helped one another. I haven't seen nor experienced that here in Fl. Ppl that have a Dr. That are still helping them just dont want to give up their info. Or they want something in return. Just my experience I've been back 8 months and found Genesis it was called Superior back in 2009 when I was a patient but I came across 2 other Dr s by hearsay, this took 6 months and it was from a cab driver who told me about ppl he had driven him from these Dr's.

Drs are going by FDA Guidelines of 120 mg Morphine or Morphine Equivalent Daily. It is that or nothing.
