BL I am far too educated and with superb credentials to go there with you. I suggest if you are here for the same reason I am--wherever I go I have given support and since 98 not only support but written referrals for 10,000 SUICIDAL pain patients that you do so. As it stands you oscillated all Louisiana people with your threats about Medicaid recipients. When someone asks for help it's ok to state something but to repeat it over and over becomes TROLL bearing. I recently saw the psychotic TROLL on a Florida post who was demanding oxycodone for morbid obesity--clearly her appearance on here was as a TROLL I reported over 10 posts from different handles because she was severely abusing people here for the right reasons to get help. I do not appreciate your running a summary that SH "is going to methadone clinic" and P450 is doing such and such it's going to chase people away not help them. I clearly know the regulations; I'm a federal regulation expert, and clearly have knowledge and credentials that due to this venue and the lack of email allowed do not want to go further. Why you think you have the need to STAND OVER people makes no sense to me. You are not a lawyer they would never speak down to those with IP.

Who are you using for PM in Louisiana? That is a question you are not willing to answer are you. If that is the case what benefit are you giving to those here in need (NONE)? Are you some type of site monitor I don't think so I've seen someone post on email policy and they do so in bold font.

The benefit you could give other then your own experiences is who your physician and whether or not he/she is taking new patients.

Or are you someone just watching those in pain suffer?

In many states a persons SSDI will be reduced if they are also receiving workman's compensation. This only applies if the combined monthly amounts of SSDI and wc are greater than 80% of a persons predisability average earnings. In some states it is the WV that is reduced. If the SSDI reduction applies in Texas, it could result in an overpayment..Since WCMSA allocates a portion of the wc settlement for future medical related to the injury, I think that is where the confusion is.

BL I have a 100% medical award due to WC for life that means I am SSD after WC indemnity and they must pay 100% medical any physician who gets me gets full schedule fee and my medication is 100% paid for example my normal bill was running $25,000 a month. The situation which escalated in East Texas is totally ridiculous and have contacted a Houston SSA lawyer who is emailing with me over this it will be handled. But don't presume unless someone says something this is a public posting area anyone can read it and I would never do what you imply did you do that (exactly how does it feel) I do not like to talk about ME ME ME I help others when I come on here but if I am MIA I am still seeking a physician, and by the way may have a lead from two pharmacists right here where I live she writes my priority medication for long acting, and that would be awesome.

BL further there is no offset if you do your business legally this is over a Director of Nursing job I had for a month and there is a SSA office in east Texas that is corrupt I am switching to Lake Charles due to this. I have NEVER had an issue with SSA and like I said I was originally disabled as a young young woman.

BL you are so wrong it's written in manure and now I see why people have gotten upset with you. I have been disabled since I was in my 20's. I am the rare animal who went back to school MYSELF and on scholarships raising 5 kids to get off of SSD. And WC regulations differ in every state. I had a catastrophic injury and finished my indemnity I am on FULL SSD since the late 90's I had minor children who were covered I represent myself against Attorney General's and win pro bono you know I respect your ability but I am not discussing indemnity so please don't go there with me you have a real condescending attitude. By the way who is your pain doctor in Louisiana.

SH, getting treatment at a Methadone Clinic will make it impossible for you to find a Dr to treat your pain later on.

P450, there is an offset with when you receive WC and also received SSDI. The SSA laws are specific on this.

USMC Scout Sniper,
It shouldn't matter if the post is older. The information you presented is invaluable. If you're still visiting this board (even once in a while) thank you so very much for your post. I do not have pain issues any longer (thank God), but evidently there are scores of people right here on this board who DO and are desperately searching for guidance. You offered a wealth of it.

I hope your own pain issues are under control; the trauma your body has undergone would be overwhelming for many, if not most.

Thank you for service in the USMC as well as all of your community/civil service. You put me to shame!

Jay trust me on my scientific knowledge (smile) now I notice you too are on patches and know I must have brand. I did not realize you had a physician again I have been forced to travel from Texas to California I do require the same one who will do the patches. Thanks much.

Danno, it is a pleasure to see another person who also must use patches I must have brand Duragesic due to my allergies. You moved from Florida would you be willing to give us the name of your physician who prescribes patches? I had to travel due to my complexity and progress to Central Pain Syndrome from Texas to California the past five years to Florida is not that far for a Texan. Thanks. I have some issues right now but will see if there is anyone out there listed for PA. Peace out.

Jay WRONG (ULTRAM, TRAMADOL) it is not a straight opioid, it is a MIXED agonist (Narcan is 100% antagonist and reverses OPIOIDS sending someone into horrible withdrawal) and antagonist--this will partially REVERSE pure opioids. This drug is dangerous and raises the seizure threshold so high that legal suits are out on this drug. It can cause psychosis. If anyone here is facing a sudden removal of opioids for whatever reason they MUST either go to a methadone clinic if no other resource is open to them, and even they might get you in a period of time to a new pain specialist. Realize that many who seek methadone due to addiction are former pain patients without a physician or whose family has pushed them into thinking they are addicts. Once a clinic gets to know you and realizes you are a legitimate pain patient who will benefit from a good specialist (if any can be found these days) then you might get a referral and also they will help you by doing their plan. Methadone is a very horrid withdrawal drug in and of itself and due to the very slow pass it makes through the liver one of the HIGHEST risks for overdose and death. Initially they should start at a lower level to observe you; one person may metabolize slowly and keep telling them they need more. Since the liver pass is so slow the drug can sit there adding up leading to OD and death. There are times when a good GP you trust and cares should be honestly approached. If he/she cannot get you a new referral or even offer to taper you safely when they do not do pain specialty due to federal changes themselves they might come up with a plan that benefits you. It clearly appears that those who are physically tolerant to HIGH levels of straight opioid such as oxycodone and mixed (Percocet for example) are getting the antagonist side of the Ultram not only increasing their experience but making it worse. I dare say this is one drug that like Neurontin has been used knowing it has caused billions in unlawful death suits for example but manufacturers are making so much money they pay out settlements and continue to sell these "killer drugs" without a concern for any of us here who might be in trouble or need a new PM.

BL let's get me straight. In each state WC regulation is different not only did I have when injured which is over 16 years ago the best attorney on the east coast but due to my knowledge and background (and post injury I was accepted to both law and medical school but due to my health cannot do either program too much stress which increases my pain which is now terminal when you progress to Central Pain you can die from pain at any time and due to my WC I was disabled permanently 100% for life) and indemnity (temporary disability) in each state differs. For example in Texas it is only 2 years so if you have a bad injury you are told to apply for SSD immediately; Louisiana is 2 years, only a few states go longer. I am a rare case; I literally became disabled as a young woman, and on my own without help from SSA attempted the 4 year nursing program and got off permanent several genetic ovarian issues occurred when young that entailed a lot of surgery so much so that I met criteria years ago. The injury at work took all that work and was termed "catastrophic injury" and put me where I am today. Long story short I do need a pain doctor immediately. The kind doc I saw in Houston is having health issues and his very nice former partner in the other office who he referred for I need specific medication management I am beyond any blocks, inj's it would cause me death at this point; there is so much scarring (fibrotic tissue) and neuro damage, peripheral and central that such a thought is only for those newly damaged... I avoid in depth explanations on public sites; the one thing the famous Dr. T. told the insurer early on is "she is certainly one of the very rare cases she can literally die at any time and will after testing show that she is now progressed to Central. Further she is one of the truly legitimate intractable pain patients I have cared for there is no doubt and my concern is that her life may end if I do not intervene immediately." I know for I have pro bono done over 10,000 written referrals for legitimate pain patients of SUICIDAL levels throughout my post injury years throughout the world--they always had to be evaluated in order to get into my pain support groups, and since the death of my beloved daughter my heart cannot do this (until I came here and reached out to a few) plus Dr. T. told me I was too sick to continue helping others.

For example if someone needed a written referral right now I MUST GET MY OWN HELP and just finished court again (won as you know) against the employer/insurer--I have continued when my hand is forced to uphold for IW's what WC attempts to do--reduce costs by pushing injured workers to suicide. So of course, being a permanent for so long I like other injured workers had to go to permanent on SSA. So all of this is HISTORY sorry I do get long winded and again if we could speak privately I certainly would provide you with contact information as well as a few here who also are in critical need. SSA expects WC since I have not settled my claim and will never settle without a medication set aside under MSA for CMS which the last one done showed the medication cost for 20 years would be over $1.8 million for 20 year lifespan. You already know I must have brand due to the P450 and severe allergies to common things such as fillers, dyes, flavorings which in generics are endemic (cheap products used), and further any opioid is allowed under FDA and this is not new to be 42 to 47% LESS opioid content. My insurer never paid mileage to California for the past 5 years. So for the first time in over 16 years due to the insurer pushing me and so forth (work for only short time I'd lose any work due to my disability not allowing me to work and worsening my health) the local office (and usually my case is handled in a large HUB) attempted to deny. My appeal is in progress but before this even has occurred they sent an overpayment thing which I appealed so did not get paid today. Back on track for now you have plenty on me--I must get a physician I was certain the kind doc's partner would take me she cannot take the WC insurance. I was wondering if anyone had used the group in a hospital in Tennesee I see two of the physicians literally trained at top schools in Texas and there are 4 doctors in there. I will be running ragged I spent three hours in local SSA office today and am thinking of using one of these SSA attorney services for in my case being disabled so long and not a kid anymore it is crazy for them to think they can flip my case. If you know of a good SSA attorney service pop that here too; normally I handle everything myself right now I could use a friend.

P450, I'm assuming your problems with SSA has to do with your benefits. Since you're receiving Medicare, you've been receiving benefits for a while. There is an offset with SSDI when you receive WC.

Actually, Tramadol is a Synthetic Opioid & could help Mild to Moderate Pain. For Severe Chronic Pain it takes a Much Larger Dose, which did help me calm some of the Withdrawl Symptoms until I could get my regular High Daily Dose Morphine & Fentynal.

You are right about it being almost Worthless for Severe Chronic Pain.
