Can you tell me about any doctors who can prescribe Vicodin
Sorry, I didn't know that other post wouldn't reply under the person's that I was replying TO. This forum is not designed well at all. What's the point if you can't reply personally to someone? I wish there was a website that would RATE pain management doctors!!! (And with very SPECIFIC questions like "did you find them OPIO-PHOBIC?") That would ROCK!
If it's the dr. in a certain area of East TN who also has a "sleep apnea" clinic as a "front"- they check the DEA database or prescription monitoring database for absolutely no reason whatsoever. OVERLY arrogant appointment/ office dude as well.
Throwing away precious narcotics when there are millions needing to even FIND a doctor that will take their pain seriously!!! I wish there was an actual forum with pain doctor REVIEWS so I could quit wasting my time on drs that don't take pain seriously and quite actually don't GIVE a flying rat's a**.... they will sure as heck set you up with epidurals & therapy though!
Katy too. I'm in wa as well :)
Hi Janet please e - mail me . I would love to talk offline. J
Washington state's bill is not clear ether!!! I HAVE SPOKE TO THE THE CHAIR COMMIT Y AND THE WAY IT IS IS CONFUSING THEIR ARE SMALL LINES THAT INCLUDED US WITH OUT CANCER , BUT DR.'S ARE NOT BEING PRO ACTIVE ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND IT SO WE ARE LEFT TIRING TO INFORM THEM. MY DR. HAS NO SPAIN !!!!! AND WILL NOT EDUCATE HIM SELF THIS IS GOING TO BE A BATTLE AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THAT A LAWYER OR LAWYERS HAVE NOT JUMP ON THIS !!!!!! AFTER TOMORROW I VERY WELL COULD BE WITH OUT A DOC. TO FIND A NEW ONE IS SO HARD
Thanks to Janet, Louise, and Everyone,
for your concern and good ideas. Why, it never occurred to me to start a Twitter or snail-mail campaign by writing to state legislators, et al. I'm more than willing to do something, anything...even if my name goes on some government black list somewhere. I'm in northern New Joisey. You folks are the best! I wish pain-free days to all as well even if it takes a miracle.
Making it easier for Dr.'s to prescribe narcotics for chronic pain is in the hands of each individual states legislatures. By not having specific laws allowing Dr.'s to prescribe following rules all Dr.'s fear their state medical boards. A Dr. can spend 9 years in school or longer and can loose their license by a decision of a very conservative medical board. I tried , with several Dr.'s, for about 8 years to get the legislature in MIssissippi to write and pass such a law and we failed every year. We did have supporters and our main problem was getting it out of the proper committees. There are a few aroune who will. I know of about five in Jackson, MS. who will write without hesitation and another who will write class III but not class II drugs. I used to have an up to date list of every states Dr.'s who would prescribe but it was stored on a 3n 1/2 inch floppy and I no longer have that type of disc. It is at least 12 years old and I'm sure needs updating anyway. If anyone can send me their state of city I may remember a name. Have a pain free day.
@Janet.. where are you located?
Hi MCDT, first of all, I can really relate to doctors not giving a damn if you are having crhonic pain. It took me years to find a good doctor, but the surgeon I am now going to have given me injections, they do help many people, so don't know them ok? When I had my first round of injections, it only worked on the left side of my back. I am stil in very bad pain, so he said that it should have worked for all of my lower back. Oh, this doc. Doesn't give a damn! I get the feeling that he thinks I am one of those people that just like getting attention or something. But when I first saw him, he looked at my MRI, and new that I had degenerated d. d. and scoliosis. Please excuse any typos, had to take more pain pills today, really bad day. Anyway, I sure hope you get the help you need. You need a caring doctor, who will prescribe you what you need. It has nothing to do with the DEA. There is a doctor in my area that people without insurance go to. This guy will give you anything you want for $100. Crazy isn't it? A doctor that's a drug dealer. I am sorry if I got off topic, I am in a fog right now for the most part. So you are saying that you cant get good treatment because your gay? If so, where the heck do you live? In the usa, they have very good doctors that have nothing against gays. My best friend was gay, and he was on a lot of the new meds, but that was over 20 years ago, but he lived a long time with it. I miss him so very much. I wish people wouldn't judge, we dn't have the right to. I will shut up now, I bet I put you to sleep. Speaking of sleep, I sure wish I could find a god site for Lunesta, that's the only sleeping pill I can take.
Good luck to you
Janet
Ashely? All you need to do it to get an MRI, sometimes the problems don't show up in xray's. I know I have been having chronic back pain for years. So My doctor finally told me to get an MRI. I don't know why he waited so long to tell me. But anyway, I don't know if youhave had this done alredy with xrays, but an MRI will tell you if it's all in your head. Please don't go back to see a chiropractor, I swear everyone I have known that has gone to see one, they always find something wrong and tell them they need to come back. They are nothing but a bunch of money hungry pigs! I hope everything goes ok with you.
Janet
Can't you read? She said to EVERYONE! GEZZZZZZZZ
THIS IS TO EVERYONE ??? HAS ANYONE CONTACTED THEIR STATE MEDICAL BOARD OR A LAWYER ABOUT ALL OF THIS??? WHO IS STANDING UP FOR ARE RIGHTS !!!!! I HAVE MADE SO MANY CALLS AND THEY ALL SAY THIS IS CRAZY BUT NO ONE DOES ANYTHING . LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOUR END ((k))
Who are you talking to? lol
Hello, first off I just want to say, if you do reply to my message, please put @ Ashley because I get confused who people are talking to lol..Anyway, I had a skiing injury 10 years ago, I have had neck and shoulder problems ever since, and ive had all testings that you can think of and they find NOTHING, of course all the Dr's think its in my head, which it isnt. Im just so tired of the pain, ive also been having lots of back pain, so I decided yesterday that I was going to go to a chripractor, and did. He told me that my body is all wacked out, and that I need to come and see him 3x a week, but idk if its really worth it, for one because I have heard a lot of people say its only TEMPORARY relief. So what I was wondering, has anyone had any good experiences or has it helped anyone else, I'd really appreciate it if someone responded, im in lots of pain and way to young to be living like this, thank you so much
what state are you in Louis?
Who will in Calif
MEDICAL CANNIBIS is a start? Since they dont want to give me my meds.....here in Washington state they put me on MMJ!
Good morning, William,
Yes, I did reply to your comment and I had a feeling that you did mean it in a positive way, thank you. I am so disgusted with the entire money-making schemes of pain doctors and monitoring (see my reply to Janet ). I would like to go to one doctor for everything (except maybe my cardiologist) and be done with it. I don't think people, especially doctors, understand the limitations of chronic, severe pain unless they experience it themselves. I guess I don't know the right doctors or pharmacies...wish I knew some young folk who can teach me how to play the system.
Hi Janet,
Initially, I was replying to William's post and trying to say that we people who use pain meds for real debilitating pain, to improve our quality of life (if we have one to speak of), etc. My reference re: march on Washington was as gays did years ago. We are treated like outcasts and criminals much as gay people were (and still are), and the Medicare and (lack-of) health care systems in this country are despicable. Yes, I have spoken with my doctors and they are all so afraid of The State (DEA) that they won't write an Rx but instead send you to a "Pain Clinic." These pain doctors also own adjoining physical therapy and MRI facilities, and don't really want to listen or help unless they can do invasive procedures (injections, etc; I've had them all), P/T, expensive tests, etc. It is disgraceful and should be illegal.
