Hello and thank you for your kind reply. I don't know if the governor, you are writing about it still in office. My aunt, in-law, was a governor, of this state, once, but that was years ago, and I am certain she's passed away, by now. It would have been nice if she had children who followed in her foot steps, but she was single, all her life. Darn it.
I don't know of the sheriff, you write about, but the prisoners are wearing orange, now, so I wonder if he is still around. If he is, I will google his name, if you think he will be on our side.
I haven't written that petition, yet, trying to figure out what exactly to say, since I am not a very good author, of anything I write. Lol! But, I am certainly going to try, if no one will write my petition for me. I want it to be very heartfelt, but professional, as well, so when the government officials and pharmacy companies, read it, they will sign it, along with our other Chronic Pain patients. Thank you for the idea about sending it to these manufacturers, I didn't think of that, so I will be sure to try and get them to sign too. I am also going to send one to the FDA, for they were going to take the Opana ER, off the market, but then decided it was still okay to produce it and sell it. I found this information on the FDA website. So, you can see, I am going every where to find as much info as I can and support.
I truly appreciate your kind reply and also from others. I am hoping, if we all stand strong, shoulder to shoulder, against these people, who make decisions on wrong information, without any suffering or medical training, themselves, then we might win this battle. Just because we don't have cancer, doesn't mean that we are suffering so much less. Our suffering also causes other things happening in our bodies, to make us suffer, even more and some people, will suffer, if not alread, mentally, perhaps ending their lives, if there is no hope.
So, again thank you, for your kind thoughts and suggestions, I will do a petition, hopefully written well and send it to every politician I know and the medicine manufacturers and on websites, for us all to sign. I will, perhaps, make a website or blog, posting it too, if my pain and time allows. For I am having more bad days than good, anymore.

May GOD bless you and everyone who is on this site and suffering....

Always!

I feel for you and understand, it really is sad that one option is to move because your state has given in to the feds, atleast on this issue... I thought I read somewhere that Arizona does stand up to the federal gov. on other issues, wasn't the governor of Arizona the one that had a run in with Obama? Trying to remember if sheriff Aparo is from AZ. as well, the one that has chain gangs and makes the prisoner wear pink... I am trying in my state too before it gets that bad, I was born and raised in Miami Fl. but moved to Tennessee about 30 years ago, Florida is bad too because of the pill mills that brought all the attention. On this site there is another page about not being able to fill pain meds in central Fl. Tampa, Brandon, St. Pete area because pharmacies will not fill the scripts. The doctors will write them but no pharmacy will fill them, and if they go a county or two over those pharmacies get suspicious so people are having to go mail order from other states and that is another issue altogether, it really is sad. Since moving is not an option start a FB account, I started 410 pain, (for Tennessee} about a month ago and it has grown. If you get enough people from AZ. to join and send a copy to your governor and your state reps, both House and Senate. Tell them your plight and encourage others to send in theirs too, hopefully they will get the message. They drug companies have a lot of pull too, they want their meds being available, they too are on your side, maybe see if you can get one of them to support you as well. Power in numbers, good luck to you, we have to start somewhere, right?

Thank you, Anton, for your kind reply. This is why I posted those two sites, for everyone to see and go to. I am hoping people, in the state of Arizona will see it and sign up for it. Lord knows there are many suffering here, too. I am a member of several chronic pain sites and hopefully, when I posted these sites, on each one, then perhaps that will help all of us, no matter what state we are in. I am doing my best, in my state, but the pain is so intense for me, it is hard to sit and do anything, let alone walk, stand and sit. This is why I take only a short time to post these links.

I can't move, I live in an old trailer, that needs a lot of work, before I can even think of renting it out, let alone sell it. I am low income, trying to support my blind & destitute ex-husband, with my very small disability income. I can barely afford the food from the dollar store, pay my mortgage and the utilities. I am having a hard time paying all the co-pays from the doctors. So, I'm stuck, for now. But, I keep a positive mind, plugging along, everyday and hopefully, when I see a new doctor, after she gets her new office organized, in July, perhaps she will help me.

Anyway, thank you for your kind thoughts and suggestions.

It is frustrating Marivan, I feel for you, my state too changed the laws last July 1, 2013. Thankfully my PCP who I have been seeing for the last 5 years opened a pain clinic because he had to comply with the new state law and DEA guidelines.. Even though I was an established patient I had to start over with drug panels, mug shot, fingerprints, background check, they treat you like a would be criminal than an actual patient. Sadly we have to play the game until we get the power back, I would recommend you start with your state legislators, they make the laws. Your state has given in to the federal government, you need to get people like you to address your state legislators, there are power in numbers, start a FB page or a website for people in your state who have legitimate pain. It will be tough because it sounds like your state legislators have already thrown in the towel so you have to organize enough people to vote these bozos out of office and vote in people who are compassionate towards pain patients and their suffering. Remember, the DEA and federal law is one thing but the state and the people of that state can supercede them, look at all the medical marijuana dispensaries, there are now 22 states that allow medical marijuana and the good people of Colorado and their legislators allow recreational marijuana which is still illegal according to the feds and the DEA. You can stay and fight or move to another state, not many options here, stay or move... Good luck to you...

Hello everyone, I just found a government website, so we can start a petition for Chronic Pain Patients suffering because of DEA abusing our care and our doctors. Of course, someone may start the petition, with better wording than I can, but I will certainly go and sign it, as we all should who are chronically suffering from pain, when there is no cure. Please, let us get a petition out and be "Warrior Strong against the DEA medically deciding that people who don't abuse opiates get relief from them, without penalty or actions against our doctors and the pharmacies." Thank you, everyone, if we stand together, perhaps we all will get the help we need.

Here is the website: petitions.whitehouse.gov

This is not correct, in NC anyways because you can not have refills on any scheduled substance and if any scheduled substance is mailed to you it requires a signature. I have downloaded the list of dea controlled substance's and Ultram which is the brand name is not on it. My blood pressure medication requires a prescription but is not a controlled substance. Sorry I don't mean to sound like a smart ass had a rough night. You can find the list here: deadiversion.usdoj.gov/schedules

I'm looking for a doctor in Michigan. I have 2 disintegrated discs & it's horrible pain

Hello,
I live in Southeastern AZ, about 15 miles from the U.S./Mexico borders. The DEA here, has bragged, on the radio how they have taken all people off opiates, except those who have cancer. Naturally, my two, primary doctors, one of 13 years and the other of one year have quit their practice. I was off the morphine, with the later doctor, but she had me on Buprenorphine, to help me. However, when she suddenly quit her practice, the clinic didn't tell me, nor did they tell me they canceled my prescription, so when I was completely out, I found out I couldn't get any more. I talked to the head doctor, (who once filled my morphine, when my primary was ill), and she said she was giving me the last amount of morphine, my last doctor had already gotten me off of, 180mgs/day. Then she assigned me to a horrible man doctor, who looked at me, for the first time as if I was a drug addict. This man, kept watching the clock, telling me there was nothing wrong with me, because he claimed my blood work was negative for ANA. However, he lied, because if he read my history, as he claimed, he would have seen I had positive ANA, was diagnosed, first with lupus, fibromyalgia, then finally with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, which encompasses lupus, RA, scleroderma, to name a few. I also have scoliosis of the spine, never treated. Plus, I have a leaky heart valve. Yet, this horrible man tells me, when I'm off the morphine, (he gave me another script, which I refuse to fill), I am just to take over the counter pain medication, which stopped working for me, many, many years ago. I have a power chair, tens unit and can barely move, stand, sit and walk, without great suffering. Now, my heart is acting up. The initial symptoms, coming from my illnesses are back. I am hoping to see a new doctor, in July, when she gets her practice going, but in the meantime, I am only taking 60mgs/day, on my own. I tried to see other doctors, but when they heard I had chronic pain, they said they won't see chronic pain patients! The DEA has no medical background, yet they decided that only cancer patients can have relief. I took care of my dad and my fiance/, both who died of cancer, yet I can honestly tell you, I have such intense pain, it is as much or worse then they suffered. At least my fiance could still walk around and enjoy life, up to the day he died. I am now home bound and am trying to care for my blind/destitute ex-husband, taking him off the streets. It is so very hard for me to cook, do our laundry and run the vac, only a little bit, in one room. I am on disability, low income and can barely pay my bills. So, thanks to the DEA, my life is in shambles, unlike my being nearly normal, when I was on the morphine. I took it, according to directions, sometimes taking less, so I wouldn't have anything in my body suffer from it. So, I am, in no way, a drug addict. I don't think anyone here knows of a doctor, in Sierra Vista, that can help me, but just in case, I write this anyway. Is anyone having the same problems with DEA and if so, is there a website that has started a petition, to sign to send to the government, regarding the DEA taking our relief away from us. It is inhumane what they are doing to chronic pain patients, that have no cure for their conditions. Thank you, for reading my story, I will you all the very best and may GOD Bless you all.

Any medication that you have to have a prescription for is a Controlled Substance. Tramadol/Ultram is a Schedule IV Federally. A few states have moved it to a Schedule III. Schedule III is more stringent than Schedule IV, so the state law superceds federal.

Yes I take clonidine myself but my VA doctor switch me to something else which I think works better it's called Amlodipine Besylate %mg Tab I take 1/2 a pill a day and also you can get a doctor to prescribe Tramadol pretty easy and Tramadol is a synthetic Opioid pain med which at the moment is not considered a controlled substance by the DEA and it works on the same receptors in the brain as any other narcotic pain meds and is in the same class as oxycodone and some of the others. I take 100 mg 3 times a day and it also stopped the withdraw's from the other narcotic pain meds I was on. I use to have my morphine delivered and I had to sign for it and had to call my doctor every month to refill it and now it comes in the mailbox and I have 5 refills on my bottle. Most doctors won't have a problem writing this. Tramadol is also addictive and if stopped sudden after taking it for a while you will go through withdrawl's. God Bless America and Good Luck.

If anyone knows a PM or PCP doctor in NJ. Close to NYC and Paterson I would appreciate it. I don't abuse meds. But my doctor said get can't prescribe anymore due to new regulations. I had 3 back surgeries and I would never buy H or anything like that. Percocet was the only thing that helped me.

I truly believe that, when history looks back on this period in time, it will be considered another shameful act of government total akin to McCarthyism: another Witch Hunt.

Read about The McCarthy Blacklist, and compare it to what is going on with genuine chronic pain patients.

Thank You!!!! Mitchell - For your service, and your very helpful information. You ARE a hero, and it is awesome that in your situation, you are still reaching out to help others, here. My husband is in a similar situation, I wrote about it earlier - It's a witch-hunt in Michigan - after 10 years of 160 mgs of morphine plus 4 norco a day, he has been flat-out cut-off because his doctors were getting threatened to the point that they retired (they were older). Now, even the pharmacists who fill opiate prescriptions are being harassed. As a last resort, my husband - whom is also a heart patient (having survived a major mycardial infarction) is thinking of asking for clondidine - does anyone have any info or opinions on this? Never heard of it......THANKS!!!!!!!!
