Brandy. Yes it is legal you showed up for a drug they had not prescribed further if you have taken ADDICTION medication you know this drug reverses your opioids it is meant to do so. Why would you use this drug if you are on Oxycontin and Percocet? Further this is a liability to your PM specialist if you are physically risking your own life by mixing up drugs or worse yet not using your opioids for your intractable pain, and using ADDICTION medications. In all the years I've done referrals you are a red flag to me, so I do not know how Massachusetts is handling their network BUT in most cases you may be flagged at this time. I do recall reading several physicians in Rhode Island who were good physicians but perhaps you might be honest with your provider and give him/her the scoop on why you showed up dirty. I'm sorry people have got to stop this behavior you go to one physician for PAIN and stay with them you are making it bad for others myself included. I had one physician for 10 plus years until the man DIED unexpectedly and then the famous specialist for 5 years until regulations changed in California for out of state patients. I was injured in 1998 and prior to divorce and moving out to Texas I had one physician other then my surgeon until then so you do the math. No doctor hopping, shopping, or BS. I feel for you if you are now suffering but you need to find out what is going on as ADDICTION is a serious illness which causes other pain patients who are TOLERANT (properly so) to opioids.

Chris I lost an adult daughter (2010) and cannot even speak of it. The reason I posted this one to you is he has two offices and mistakenly was also listed as physical therapist so people went there looking for therapy and were given strong medications I see he also has an office in Louisiana I might try there (near N.O.). I know of what you speak I'm seeing the one physician tomorrow, but the i****s from WC remember I've been injured since 1998 lost (I won again first I had to win Dr. Tennant in 2010 when Dr. H. died) and they will try to hold off to the last minute. They only gave me ER option during this after all these years and under Obamacare a painer will not get help in an ER they will waste your time and money and send you back to find a pain specialist--the insurer even refused me in the emergent time to find one and I am doing so now. Problem is I must be on brand due to allergies especially the patch and the amount I was on I am sure will never see again (80 and 80) two strengths, along with a generic liquid oxycodone I prefer since I am allergic to flavorings, dyes you name it. I have for 5 months now been without a treating physician it's called due diligence and two Deputy Commissioners told them this, and you would truly think since I was a Commonwealth RN, and I am part of the old system they would not be allowed to kill you that is murder in Texas where I reside now. I hope this will work for you; check your state medical board first I found several I'd like to try in Texas and the board has thrown them off for now. Around 2009 we got a new medical board and they are all conservative and in Texas now you must register as a pain clinic which is an expense, makes you a target and easier for them to manipulate and so forth. Keep in touch Chris.

Chris I checked him out on Healthgrades he has no sanctions at this time. Again at least 8 of 11 reviews stated he prescribed very strong medications. Only issue is no office in Louisiana. I have the name of one in N.O. area which is only 200 miles I am in Eastern Texas. Tomorrow Houston. If anyone knows of anyone who is a good physician in Texas (any part), or Louisiana, and would like to hear more about Dr. Troy in Metarie if anyone has background.

P450, it may be helpful to check the dates of the reviews. If it has been since the 120 mg Morphine guideline came out from the FDA, the Dr may have changed what they prescribe.

Chris, drs don't have to say anything about the120 Morphine guidelines. Also if your last Dr got into trouble for prescribing like he wasn't suppose to, a lot of drs are hesitated to take on those patients.
Many drs won't give prescriptions on the first visit. You often have to go back and just stick with a Dr to really know what they will prescribe you.

BL, hi do you mean Dr. Troy. I am following up all of these leads (here) with VITALS and also checking to see if they are sanctioned. (1) I have my genetic profile from the lab on P450 I am a medical exception but if I had not kept medication aside would be dead I have not had a prescription since end of March and took the Employer to court to win due to NO due diligence (2) I am searching on my own personally I have done successfully over 10,000 referrals for PM since my injury in 1998 and know what you find on open forums where we don't really have identities. (3) Yes I've checked all the dates, for example Dr. Troy is now in his own clinic and still listed (I read patient reviews) for doing pain management (recently). What bothers me the most is that pain patients (also my reputation is just as important as I am a professional nurse so my license counts when I visit a doc) won't make the efforts to travel--for the love of God I was forced due to the death of my PM of 10 plus years and my complexity to go to California. Our current elected party is our problem in a nutshell; you do know since he came into office Oxycontin immediately became a shortage in high doses and then was REMOVED at the super high levels. The horror story is we now live in a nation where if you are over 40 and chronic he would like you put to death. Pain patients must be responsible. I also find that most people find the help and don't post I used to filter and keep private my pain support lists. BL did you get help?

Jason, Everyone is dry due to new FDA requirements there are 2 neurologists in Weyers Cove I've had to go to California from Texas for 5 years and now they cannot treat out of state there so I'm in trouble need someone in Texas, NM, or Louisiana. Balint Pain Clinics supposedly do I'd try them. Leaving for Houston folks (200 plus miles round trip) to meet a doc today say a prayer.

BL I went ahead and faxed records to Dr. Troy hoping to see him too less than 190 miles which is not bad when I've had to go to California from Texas for 5 years. Problem is I'm on such a lower amount that my life is pure pain. Any help is needed folks I give mine please pass along anyone in Texas, Louisiana, NM, and if need be Arizona or thereabouts. Vegas might even work.

To P450 from SH,

I didn't get the clue to who the Richmond Virginia pain Dr.is- OK it is a woman. I am getting only a small disability ck. I left my significant other about 1 1/2 yrs ago. The older vans were his, so I don't have transportation beyond Richmond area. I could go into North Carolina about 1-2 hrs away. Can you give me more definite info.about the Dr. In Richmond area.I have sent records to 5 drs with a response, "I can't help you". I have been to the other drs. That prescribe meds. I never should have left my Dr. W of 5+ yrs because she did meds plus inj's. She had me on 60-80 mg Methadone, and added Fentanyl up to125 MCG, plus vicoden / then Norco. Before my 2 fusions, she increased the Fentanyl to 175 MCG. After surgery, added Dilaudid. So I have a very hi tolerance. What can be done legally? I should not have To go to a methadone clinic for opiate addicts!! Dependence is not addiction. But, withdrawal is awful, coupled with pain!! Help!! Good luck in Texas. If I had $$, I would fly to anywhere. I don't want a quack either. Give me a hint again about Richmond Virginia. Thanks so much!!

P450-I fear since Dr. O is not medical PM he will not do scripts for pain-was told by one appt. that interventional PM wrong type dr. for me. However when asked for referral I was given name of dr. no longer there (disconnected phone). Due diligence legal term but why dr. not see you out of meds & into withdraw if no script yet send you out door w/o any help? Plus charge $$ 1st visit fee on top. If complain you are "drug seeker" (even tho looking at me they KNOW I have pain). Killing off weak is Obamacare-I simply have too much pain to function at all so find myself suffering to death. Forgot what I needed to ask but plea for help from a willing painer with info on brave dedicated PM doc. Meds I took allowing me tpe this, soon will have nothing surely be hospitalized which cant pay. BL how did you find help? You seem to have all the answers? Need strength over suffering... Chris

If you have been on these medications for five years and have a legitimate reason, I would suggest contacting a V.A. representative who could set you up with the nearest center in your area. Most V.A. hospitals- the larger ones anyway, have pain management that is available to all veterans with an honorable discharge. Some larger ones have methadone clinics too, if the physician feels this medication is needed for serious severe cases. However, pain management is a place to start. And, as you should already know, its free. As a veteran myself, I know. Thank you for your dedicated service to your country....something I didn't hear back in my era. Soldier On! Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone UNLIKE others who do not come back when they either visit or find a physician I'll update you on my trip to Houston. I saw a very nice physician he's empathetic BUT you go to him if you still need injections and so forth, I do know that he writes medications, but found too he is currently suffering health issues. It was 107 miles one way; since I lost my famous doc in California I was forced to a huge reduction and then took WC back to court--their goal was kill me off (cheaper that way) rather then continue to pay my case which is almost 17 years old. I have progressed to Central Pain Syndrome still will likely need the lumbar full BAK cage fusion already had the anterior cervical fusion BUT even the duck in Virginia (I'm in Texas) noted now C4 dysfunction above my C5 and C6 which were done in 2002, and I have the best ortho and professor in the U.S. already however, the i****s did not send me in 2013 when my famous doc referred me due to increasing numbness bilaterally which as many know is and can be worse then pain. It makes walking, bathing or anything unsafe completely. Well this physician referred me to another of his partners who does folks like me who are at the point in their injury or pain that medication management is done. I am very exhausted from the trip; he was kind enough to write me 3 boxes of brand high dose on my patches now I have contacted the WC people (voice mail with witnesses) for the Judge found on my behalf and felt due diligence was not exercised since the end of March. I have the right to be treated. They cannot deny this. They are trying to pussy around and we all know just for what I received we are talking 2 bills. I use a pharmacy that handles comp and car accidents out of Philly. Tomorrow we will call for two more appointments; I sent my records and some background on fax to the physician in Louisiana. I will also contact the referral this doc in Houston gave me yesterday. If any of ya'll know of a good physician in Louisiana, Texas, NM, or other please advise I am getting down to the bottom of the barrel!

They are clearing my message right now. Balint and Audet now have 2 offices in Weyers Cave and Charlottesville, VA as you know Richmond is dry. I strongly suggest not sending them records for high level opioid treatment in advance. Discuss your former medications once there. It should come soon folks, if not I'll post again.

Chris the doctor I gave you is a physiatrist do not worry if they call the place interventional do you hear me. He writes medications they mistakenly listed his office as a PT and patients wanting PT were complaining that he wrote powerful opioids and hated that do you hear me?
