Can you tell me about any doctors who can prescribe Vicodin

dabrat1956, you will need a pain management dr. It is usually best to be referred by a pcp. So getting a pcp, would be the best place to start. Any new pain managment dr will want to get a copy of you previous medical records. The type of meds you are presribed is up to the dr. PCP's and other drs can write rxs for pain meds for chronic pain, but the majority of them are choosing not to. You will have to go along with what the pain dr prescribes for a while. If you change drs when they don't presribe what you want them to it is a red flag for abuse.

nj I always prided myself on patient education, but since being here, I realize I have so much more to learn, this site should be mandatory for anyone studying medicine, im going to keep reading and learning. thanks to everyone for all your info

Do not have 'shakes', looking for a dr to prescribe real pain meds here n anchorage, not tramadol/ultram. Thank u for ur reply but plz read my original message and let me know if u know any dr??

Karen any questions regarding crohns always happy to explain so many health care providers don't understand it..I have tried to teach many over the years... Btw the meds for crohns are terrible awful life threatening side affects...pain meds can be very helpful to many it not only helps pain but lowers immune system some and that in itself it helpful... But every person and every condition is different so be treated case by case... Any opinion?

hi Karen missed you last couple of days, the more I read the more amazed I am. ive been in the medical field for over 30 years, and I have never heard of some of the symptoms and reactions to meds that people are talking about, makes me feel ignorant. I always thought I was taking really good care of my patients but now realize I was so out of the loop. thank you all for the info keep .[posting and ill keep reading thanks

da brat & others, the shakes get so bad at night u jolt & it seems like Uve been resting 4 hours but it's only been an hr or less

Dabrat hope I got it right. Please read a lot about this tramadol. It's horrible not worth the money & the withdrawals r taking everything I've got. No sleep foggy minded jolts like a zombie etc. It's 5:25 am day 3-4 of very little good sleep. It changes u. I get angry upset anxious frightfull etc. Worse thing in the world. It's been 2 or so urs for disk prob. Sciatica nerve damagege. Etc. I just finished reading another site . & it's all the de probd. Hospital er doc & the SQUAD guys hearing this do much . Savella will send I puy of this world. I hope I can get help . Please n careful & if u can go back & read the posts it's helpful.xoxo my best o will c if thru will let me post the other site.

Plz help, new to anchorage, Ak and need dr willing to give pain meds for bulging L5, whiplash with degenerative athritis also n my spine, have fibromyalgia on top of that. Tramadol and lyrica do not help! Was on 7.5 vics and T4's before,. But still cant find one here. Am fully insured but can not have anymore MRI's due to metal implant n my back. Plz somebody help

charfal, if you've been dismissed from 3 pain managements drs/clinics, you won't find anyone who woll accept you as a patient. They will want to see your previous medical records. And even if found one who didn't, the staff at pain drs offices/clinics call and give the names of patients who abuse the meds to each other.

Charley, you may have to go through the injections all over again. There is also nio guarantee that a new dr will give you the same meds as you old dr, they don't have to. But, you will need a copy of your medical records from your retired dr. You can give a new dr permission to get them.

i have just about everything everybody else has, but i made the mistake of taking a few too many pain meds. now i'm x'd out of 3 places (mngt.). i live in greenville south carolina, and i'm looking for a miracle dr. who,ll take me on. if ANYONE knows, please, please let me know!!! i can't take this much longer.

Another interesting foram I ws reading was that big pharma & India regulations about shipping certain drugs has been a hot topic.changes 2 help. Plus other places 2. R drugs do get different treatments put in or on them & then the supplies r sent . The coloring from another country the coating from somewhere & so much more. That's y it's so hard 2 figure out wat might b causing a reaction from some drugs used 4 the same treatment. Like finding out ur getting a drug but now from a different manufacture. We've all said we can tell the difference. Some r better & made a bit stronger. Some not. I wish I would've done something 2 day. I'm usually the one doing a lot. I'm sad I no this. & I can't believe I didn't get a merry Christmas text @ least from my daughter or my son In law. My son went out of town with his girlfriend @ least he texted. & I hate this texting stuff. I'd rather hear their voice. It's so impersonal & Wats 5 -10 min. 2 call & chat. It's a sad way we've become so separated. My best 2 u all. Id like some sun shine in columbus. No snow though @ least not yet. Prob. B a late winter.

Not sure after reading & making contacts about tramadol it's going 2 take a long time. Originally it was used for depression. More under the name of ultram the the genaric tramadol started 2 get used 2 & had become another cure all drug. The worse still was Savella designed the same. A cute all. Fibramialga etc. After 2 weeks I was rushed 2 the hospital . It was causing body shocks & worse happening in my brain like complete overload. I stayed in 2 day. Mostly cause I haddent sleept again very well 4 days cause I just couldn't handle leaving the house. Xoxo I didn't want 2 start crying or b upset 2 ruin everyone's day. Espescialy the kids.

Karen my father passed just a month later even though mom got him better. Long ago I knew some people who ordered (herbs)on line. No ins. At that time. & they where older not like teens. & they needed help. I got the 1 herb that's helping me calm down. I've been on it b4. & was told I should stay on it...alpraxolam the other hasn't come yet4 pain. I no it can b a risk I can't take waiting anymore.

karen you did a good thing for your mom, letting them go is always hard but keeping them alive and suffering is worse. we treat our pets better than we treat our people. hang in there, take your time with your grief, i lost my partner to suicide, he just didnt want to live anymore. this happened several years ago but it still effects me today. i have a better understanding of those in pain,with depression and addiction. i am a recovering alcoholic myself and have that addictive personality so i have to be careful. its been really hard lately because ive really wanted a drink, just wanted to relax, thinking of the herbal option myself. thanks for talking i really enjoy your posts.

Karen dr.tennant is in cal. F100 posted him & he is so busy ! He's fighting 4 people in need of pain meds. Bless him that he took the time 2 even send me a message. Says I should also check with the county & they should have a better idea of pain man. That controls ur pain without shots! & ask my doc. Well there's no help there . I'm switching ins. 4 this next yr. & already looking 4 a way better doc. I had 2 c a different doc first of all because of the ins. I got her. Then gound out she's not very good & has had problems b4. All this I wish I knew first but ur in need so u try. This holiday is the first 4 me since bothy parents past last yr. It was a mess I was a mess. & the hospital in Indiana where they had lived did nothing. I could even move my body. The movers said of I was an Animal they'd put me down ! I couldn't think couldn't sleep & my doc when I called her who had just seen me wouldn't help.while staying I'n Evensville in. A nice lady who'd seen how bad I was gave me a few Xanax.i got some sleep & felt better @ least 4a while. So much traveling. We r from Cleveland so we had 2 travel there for the burial. I've had horrible Nightmares even still. Bad decisions where made. I was on that tramadol & it wasn't helping... Made it worse. I kept saying something was wrong no 1 listened. I've gone back & reread posts 2 try 2 get names right & 2 remember. It was helpful. I've been busy making contacts in as many places as I can. Some r shocked 2 hear this is going on as bad as it is . If u want u might b able 2 go back & read my rather long post. My son & I had 2 drive 2 ind. 6hrs. Mom had cancer no 1 knew & my son & I had 2 say r goodbyes. I stayed the night . Laughed bout all the funny things & had the Va staff bring in a CD player so she could her songs I could sing 2 her so we didn't have 2 hear the equipment. I couldn't listen 2 it anymore. I held her & did everything possible 2 keep things uplifting. Then I'd go outside & cry so hard & scream @ the sky. I'm crying now. She was gone in the blink of an eye. I had 2 tel the nurse 2get the doc. She was in pain even though she was on morphine. I'm the only sibling since my brother passed yrs b4. I had him up the dose & I knew it wouldn't b long b4 she'd go. My blessed father was dealing with dementia so it all fell on me. I just could stand thinking of this once sting women in pain worse than mine I had 2 let her go they wanted 2 check me in for my health I said no. 2 many things needed 2 b done & I wasn't going 2 leave her side till the rest of family was with us.even after all that I till couldn't get any help. I have her cat 2 take care of she's sitting with me now she could tell I was upset. She's goog about that. & I have a pet bunny I've had & they get along & play. WE R HUMAN & WE ALL DESERVE HELP !!!! WHAT HAD HAPPENED THAT ITS GOTTEN THAT WE R AFRAID . FOR GOD SAKE TAKE AWAY THE PAIN SO WE CAN LIVE AGAIN. Xoxo 2karen my answer about the herbs they prob. Won't print.
