Doctors In Michigan That Prescribe Methadone (Page 5)
UpdatedI'm interested in finding a private doctor's office (not a clinic) that will prescribe methadone. I can't afford these clinics! Does anyone know of a doctor???
That last post I wrote was in response to Dee Wright's question, didn't realize Dee's post was so old! Maybe it can help someone else looking for a good Suboxone Dr though! Dr, Kutinsky works in the Macomb Medical Clinic, so not only do you have him, they have Dr's for everything from weight loss programs to a walk-in clinic (with x-rays and ekg's on-site). They also have an on-site pharmacy that is very quick with nice employees. This place is SUPER convenient, I don't go there anymore, but I would if Dr Kutinsky did Methadone treatment too, Suboxone didn't work out for me, I had a lot of side effects. But the 6-9 months I saw Dr K were great. He hugged me every time he saw me and genuinely cared about how I was doing. I sent my sister to him when she needed treatment and she loves him too.
I know you always have to check the date on the posts. I have made that mistake in the past. I also had very bad side effects from Suboxen, never again.
yes, ive just been through a LOT lately. i had a dr working w me for 2 1/2 months and he just finally told me he wont be able to. i finally believed i found help, and in one day lost my job, my dr., my hope...i found these emais in my spam, i had figured u just werent using the forum anymore. thank u for responding pam
Hey Jacob, let me know if you need another doctor. I hope things are working out better for you. Some things just seem like they always happen at one time. Take Care! PAM
Hi pam, I just moved to Brighton from California and found a clinic in Ypsilanti that's costing me $60.00wk in gas & $80.00wk for methadone, I'm driving 40miles a day each way and I have tested clean for a year documented from old clinic, can I get methadone pills from a dr. For less$$ and dose dr. Pins on prescribe this ?? I'm on 47mgs and drop 1-2mgs a week,I'm on fb ,dianna Nicklason ,if you have any info I would sure appreciate it, some personal info can't be posted on this site so fb would be a solution to that if convenient for you ....thanks ...D.N.
Hey Pam I'm in Warren also and have been going to a clinic but it is a huge problem with my work schedule. Please let me know of a doctor it would save my life!
Hi Pam, you seem to be the person to ask bout what dr may or may not prescribe methadone. I live in the tri cities area(bay city, saginaw, midland,mt.pleasant) area and I go to a clinic and spend bout 80 a week in gas and another 80 a week for my methadone and I also pay for my brother as well. So as you can see its costing me a small fortune. I've been clean besides the methadone for a year now and feel comfortable enuf to think I'm ready to trust myself to perhaps get methadone in pill form from a dr so I can save money and get a savings started. Do you happen to know any doctors in this area that would be taking new patients with medicaid but I would be willing to pay some cash as well if the doctor was close enough that I wouldn't be spending all my money on gas. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you
Hi Bri, Dr. Idrees on 8 Mile and Dequindre in Warrentreats people with suboxen and methadone. I don't know if Medicaid is still paying for substance abuse but if they still are he would bill. I was paying cash at first but the first visit is 225.00 and 75.00 every two weeks. You get in and out pretty fast. His number is 586-755-7200. If this does not work out let me know because there are others.
Hi Tonya, I am sorry I don't know of any DRS. that far up. All DRS. can prescribe methadone if they have a DEA#. They prescribe it for pain. If you go in for addiction different rules apply. There is a web site you can go to "Doctors that precribe suboxen". You can type in your area. Call a few of those because some of them will do meth also. If you don't have any luck let
me know and I will see if I can locate something.
Hey Pam, thank you for gettin back to me so quickly, its appreciated. Ill def try that. I've noticed that especially in the northern part of MI there isn't a ton of options for people that need help and want to use methadone as there choice. Mt.Pleasant is the clinic that's furthest north and I know people that come from across the bridge cause they can't find a doctor to help them or a clinic. Anyhow, thanks again Pam, you help a lot of people out on this site and thought you should know it doesn't go unnoticed.
Thanks Pam just got your message I'll try after the holiday. Do you know if he takes the blue care network for insurance? Your being a huge help thanks again.
I don't know if he takes blue care, I will find out Thurs and let you know, anything else you need to know. I know the girl in the office pretty well. Let me know if you would like for me to ask them .
Thanks, I try to get back with everyone as soon as I can because when it's about getting methadone we can't wait. It's awful when you are paying cash because the clinics want that money. Some doctors do allow you to go in once a month. I do that now. That would be great if you could find that. Good luck.
Hi Dianna, what a shame all the hoops we go thru Try calling CARE 866-073-4373. They may be able to help you find a closer clinic or go online to Samhsa.gov. They can show you doctors and clinics. If you are talking about DR. Pin in Madison Hgts. You go in once a month for a script. Office call $80.00.
Dear Oliviate, Most doctors are now having their suboxen patients go to some type of counseling. It's a requirement. 3 strikes and you're out. There are cheaper doctors if you are getting suboxen. Go on the doctor locator for suboxen and call a few. There are plenty of regular MD's that charge just their regular office visit unless you need tests and that can vary. Suboxen is much easier to obtain than methadone.
I want to let everyone know there are grants available in Macomb County. They were good for 18 months. I'm not sure how long now. There is a long wait of course, Call CARE 866-073-4373 or look in yellow pages for other numbers for them, they pay everything. If you live in Detroit go thru Herman Keifer they base things on your income (no checking). They will make the appt. at the closest clinic near you. I paid $0 as most clients did. Metro East was 1 clinic, go in daily until you prove yourself. You usually can get in the next day. Just like any clinics. Perhaps this might help out some and they do accept medicaid. Good Luck to all! We need to be able to live a normal life.
Hey Pam I tried calling that number you left today and all it did was ring no answer machine or voicemail. I'll try again tomorrow but if it doesn't work hopefully you know another methadone doctor that'll accept blue care. network. Thanks for all your help you really are awesome.
Hey Bri, He's only open Mon, Wed, Fri and I'm not sure about Saturdays. He's not open late. I'll always call after 10 and before 4. Ask for Karen because a physical therapy doctor uses the same phone. She is very knowledgable about meth. Good luck.
Bri, you are correct no answering machine or voicemail. Kinda crazy in this day and time.
Thanx for all your help, I knew when i move it wasnt going to be easy, in cali, i lived two block from my clinic, and cost me $180 a month, I will check out Dr. P and see if he can help, id rather drive to madison heights once a month than ypsi 5x a week. Im waiting to see if the feds are going to approve my hardship for weekly take homes but i filed that two weeks ago, and this clinic i go to is so ghetto,im seeing "the Dr." today, maybe it will work out here.but the cost is killing me, hoow much is a month supply of pills? if you know.... thanx again , you r truly appreciated. d
