Doctors In Chicago Suburbs Or Chicago Who Prescribe Narcotics

I could really use some advice here. I moved to the Chicago area from out West and the pain management is like night and day from there to here. I feel like b/c there is such a drug abuse problem in the Chicagoland region the doctors I have seen are not willing to prescribe opiates and if they do they aren't willing to prescribe what is necessary to provide pain relief. The doctors I have been seeing in the Chicagoland area seem dead set on installing a Spinal Cord Stimulator. I have also had a doctor who only wants to do epidurals, injections and when he looked at what I was prescribed to when I came and saw him, he literally flipped out. Followed swiftly by a drastic drop in my medications and him saying "you'll be on motrin by this summer". Yet just a month and a 1/2 prior the same ER looked at what I was prescribed and the ER doc wrote out prescriptions for every drug and the amount of each one I was & had successfully been on for over 3 years. I thought that would indicate this doctor would treat my pain accordingly, but clearly not as explained above.
So I am really hoping that anyone could please lend a helping hand in finding a good pain management doctor in the Chicagoland area who is not afraid of prescribing narcotics. I can't function with the amount of pain I am in due to my injures without some sort of narcotic intervention. My MRIs have and will show that; I also got an EMG done.
I just want to be able to live somewhat normally, function and be able to work, and not have to live with intense, nonstop, severe chronic pain throughout my neck and back.
If anyone knows of a good pain management doctor to see please let me know. Your favor will not go unnoticed. Thank you very much!

Hello, Grego! How are you?

I'm sorry, but due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you're not going to find a doctor that will just freely prescribe narcotics. They are supposed to explore all other options first, such as the stimulator and there are also limits on how much of anything they can prescribe per month, unless you have a terminal condition.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Have you ever tried the injections or other treatment options? They do work wonderfully for many people.
