I am moving to Hamilton, Ohio in 2 weeks and have been on Opana 40mg, twice per day, Norco 10mg, 2 times per day as well as Klonopin 2mg, 1/2 in the morning, 1/2 at 2pm and a whole one at bed time. I have enough meds to last for 8 days after the move, an do not even know where to begin. I am on SSI and in Ky if you quaify for SSI, you automatically receive medicaid. Is this the case is Ohio? Or where do I go to apply? can ANYONE tell me if I need to apply for medicaid, aside from transferring my SSI case? Also, where do I even begin to find a Dr that will treat my pain, as well as mh many other health issues??? I am feeling sooo overwhelmed and any and all help would be appreciated!! I WILL be bringing my medical records that date back as far as 20 years so hopefully this will help. Who knows?
Blanchard Valley Hospital Pain Management in Findlay. Dr. Bakos is WONDERFUL. Been going to him for almost 4 years with no problems, then I missed a U/A and got kicked out of the program. This just happened a couple days ago and I am freaking out reading all these comments. I too have chronic back and hip pain and need my meds daily. Even my doc didn't know who to refer me to. Starting to make me sick!
I have 7 titanium ribs in my upper back, 3 deteriorating disc in lower back, sciatic nerve in lower back and a botched neck surgery and left knee pain. I have my MRI and emg.
I'm in mount Vernon OH, not far from cold. I don't like my current pain dr.
I am sick of how this country f***s over its warriors, so punk ass *****s control everything we do. I am dying from this country, but if I live thru the s***, I am helping real people, no more crying ****heads. We are like a communist country, let me do what I want to do. I don't like pain. They used to teach if it's a feeling embrace it, f*** em, they don't know real pain, I'm not mad.
Hi, I live in Columbus & it's like the hardest city to get pain Meds! My husband & I both suffer from chronic pain. Lots of issues! I won't get into all of it! My husband is going thru hell. We r looking for new doc. He's been on Meds 16 yrs & has missed one pill count, ran out early twice & in 16 yrs they found marijuana in his blood! He only tried it cause it's suppose to help! I do know a doc that's pretty easy to get a script! Have u found anyone yet? If u respond we will talk more. Maybe u know someone & we can help each other! I'll check for a response.
Miranda, I may have a name of a pain dr in Lima Ohio but you will need a referral for sure, and now these days you are not going to get a doctor who is going to prescribe high doses of narcotics, it's only going to get worse.
Call your local VSO/Veterans Service Office, request they assist you with obtaining new DD-214 and help finding your records. Also anywhere you received help from like Job Family service etc. may have copy of your DD214 from previous assistance.
There's no overprescribing as the government and media would have you believe. If you look at the actual OD deaths for Ohio last year, there were 22,000 deaths. However, 15,000 of those were due to illegally made Fentanyl often combined with other drugs and alcohol. (That's a street drug, NOT a prescribed drug!) People have just believed whatever propaganda the govt is selling. Our govt has a long history of fear-mongering to do/not do and justify their actions.
You want to talk about an epidemic? Check the suicide rates of kids ages 9 - 24! The rates are FAR higher than anything that has to do with opioids or opiates! I'm writing local and national articles on these topics along with other related issues. And BTW, the homicide rates of children ages birth to 3 is the 2nd leading cause of death! Insane!
I agree and I would not take a high doses. I have a high tolerance because Im ADHD however I can tolerate some pain. I just have cervical degenerative disc disease and with the slightest cool airway I sleep and/or certain activities throughout the day make it hurt severely. It's not a high dose of anything I'm requesting and I don't want just any pain pill, 10mg Vicodin or Norco works better than 30mg Percocet for my neck issues. I'm just very sick of the medical field making humans suffer, be miserable and have a low quality of life due to drug issues in the world. They have went from one extreme to another and more people are on illicit drugs and dying since they started the war on drugs, sad.
I think we all need to get the hell out of Ohio! If you're in pain you're also outta luck unless you want some invasive and expensive treatment! Pain meds. Forget it!
Midwest spine and pain I go to the Gahanna location. Amy Kirk CNP.

Hi guys, I'm from Australia and I have to say I am just gobsmacked at the horrendous stories I am reading on this forum. The USA is unique in its history of opioid prescribing and it simply does not exist down here in Oz. It is considered bad medical practice to medicate with opioids for chronic pain as it is inevitable that the required dosage will increase over time, and this leads to a whole host of horrible issues. It is unfortunate that your citizens have been deceived by the drug companies into thinking that long-term heavy opioid therapy is safe and non-addictive. You should be able to have complete trust in your medical professionals, but however this crisis has come about, and whoever is to blame, there are now thousands of people left without proper support to recover from opioid dependency. Sounds like government authorities have pretty much pulled the pin and left people hanging. No doctor is doing you a favour by prescribing you all the opioids your heart desires, there is only one way that can go and that is downhill. If you Google any other country on earth a read up on their opioid prescribing policies you will see just how far out on a limb the USA is. Your private health system plays a huge part in this as it is very much consumer driven and for profit. A travesty of justice has been inflicted on US citizens and its not by Obama or the DEA or any other govt. body, its by the drug companies and their deceptive practices about opioid safety that started years ago. The damage has now been done, and people need real help right now but the more I read the more it looks utterly hopeless. People in Aus often say how awesome it is that you can get so many 'pain pills' in the US, and that we should be able to do that. Be careful what you wish for, humans are really bad at recognising what isn't good for us sometimes...
I am sorry, I see how they treat veterans and anybody else who is not a judge or mayor, etc. You can't beg, they make you a psuedo junkie and when I have my 4 pills I can function, the same # I had 14 years ago, so how am I a junkie? Mix all the anti-depressants so they can win vacations. I am not sorry for your service, I am appreciative, but I am sorry for their service to you and they still don't see this is why over 10% of pain patients kill themselves. It's 100% pure unadulterated bulls***. What a country now eh?
Scary, if you can get to Canfield Ohio Doctors pain clinic might be your only luck, I used to go there and they gave me methadone. But it is very difficult to get any opioids anywhere anymore. Good luck and hope this helps. 30 mg is not a very high dose, I used to be on 160 mg a day.
Would have because you would have been paid by the military when you were in nam.. in the military. I believe Social Security is taken out of you when you are in the military.. There has to be somewhere that they can dig up some records that can prove that you were in the military. Do not let them off the hook. Go to your State representative and ask for their help.
About 10 years ago I had went through a divorce and had purchased all of the insurance that I could buy and should have been able to transfer over to Medicare but they were telling me that I had missed my special enrollment and was going to have to wait for a year as well as pay an extra fee every year. I have read very carefully and knew that I had a special enrollment period when I could no longer purchase my insurance and my rep was able to help me within days after I struggled for months trying to get covered to get surgery done. May God bless you and help you get your needs met. Thank you sir for your service. People care much more about our vets now than ever before and I believe that you can get your State Rep to really work with you and get them to turn over some paperwork. Because you were paid I truly believe that there has to be records somewhere.
