Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 271) (Top voted first)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

My Brother goes to Rocky Mountain Pain Managment. They have him on #240 30mg Oxycodone IR. # 180 100mg Morphine ER. #180 10mg Valium and 120 somas. Try them he had his medical history sent to them and had him and appointment 3 days after he 1st contacted them. He's been going there for 6 months. He's really likes his Dr there. Another one is Dr Tim Brown I use to use him until I moved out-of Co. You can google him I have lost his contact number. Hope This helps. Good luck

First of all, 30 mg Oxycodone combined with Valium can cause respiratory arrest, add in the other things you say he is taking and he is a walking dead man!

Is that supposed to be Multi-Disciplinary? What does that mean exactly? Does that have to do w/ medicinal marijuana? Hong sounds like the kind of doctor I need for my neck & back pain but I am in NC. I guess there are doctors like that here...but where? I am running out of time on my meds. There weeks supply is it & I have no PCP like they would prescribe anything anyway especially Dilaudid. They can refer but I don't have 2 months to get into a PCP & another month or two to get into a pain clinic or longer for a neurosurgeon although I am planning on getting an opinion on surgery. Obtaining pain meds is way more of a hassle than it should be even for patients with REAL pain. It makes me naseous & I am subject to some serious withdrawal being on Hydromorphone for two years then getting the shaft from my last pain doctor for some nonsense. I was on Klonopin the entire time I went to this doctor for a total being on it 7 years. I was doing fine on Klonopin from the Neurologist & Dilaudid from him. He mentioned a few times he could not raise my pain med dose which was fine & he said not to take them at the same time which was fine. He had well over a year if he wanted me off Klonopin to say sumthin. It wasn't until my Neurologist changes my dosing from monthly to weekly call to the pharmacy that he comes in the room first thing telling me he wants my drug panel clean from Klonopin on my next visit. That is not just a coincidence! It is the same no. of pills per month but he saw it on that report every week & got scared! It was the very first visit after my Neurologist started that meds so I know that was it! He gave me no chance for ? and just said he would have to cut my meds way down if I came up positive for Klonopin or I could find another pain Dr. What a jerk! When I called back telling them it would be hard to go off in three months after 7 years but I would try, they took it as refusing him or "challenging" him & I get a nice little discharge letter in the mail. I even asked for a substitute for Klonopin besides antidepressants with no answer back just the axe! After 2 years, I wanted that to be it & no more searching! Had anyone heard of ProPublica? Keikee mentioned it being a site to ck doctor's prescribing habits from state to state. Are these boards divided by state? Anyone else having this much fun in NC? My Neurologist should help me but I am not real confident about it. After all, it is sumthin he was doing that brought up attention but they do what they want leaving the patient to suffer. Has anyone heard of Pinehurst in NC? I thought I read one does not need a referral there. I am 2 hours from there. Anyone near Charlotte, NC? I cannot go through withdrawal & I cannot afford Suboxone. The pain is REAL.

I have been in disabling pain for 15 years. My Dr recently decided he will no longer prescribe the meds he knows I need do to patients who are abusing meds. I would appreciate it if you list the name and location of your Dr. Thanks in advance

Doctors haven't dropped patients due to this forum....first off, the names on the forum are not real names....and the docs don't have the ability to obtain real names.
Second, the doctors are busy enough that I doubt they go to some obscure website to see if their patients are posting here, recommending the doc they go too....and if they are truly a good, by the book doctor, they appreciate people being so satisfied with their care that they recommend the clinic to friends and others.
Doctors have many ways of determining if a person has a legitimate pain issue, or if they are just looking for pills, and they refuse to give pills to seekers.
I don't know how or why, but I have never needed to see a pain clinic. I have been on pain meds since 2010 for my knees, had both replaced, and now one of the replacements needs to be redone due to a recall and it failing. I don't have the time or funds to take the time off, so it's pain meds for the foreseeable future. My docs know I follow their rules, and I get my meds filled every month at Walmart , the doc gives me 3 prescriptions dated 1 month apart so I don't have to spend $50 and my time coming to the office every month. I have showed her many of the posts regarding new drug lass and policies posted here....she has said most are rumors

I have to offer up a 2nd opinion on medical marijuana oil. It is illegal to make some concentrates without a closed loop system. However, you can make your own canna-butter or canna-oil using butter or coconut oil. I make by own almost every 3-4 weeks using a magic butter machine (which I highly reccomend!!! And look through my previous posts for a $25 discount code). This machine even allows you to make your own tinctures (which I haven't tried yet, but I will probably try soon). Please don't scare people away from making their own simple and safe to make canna-butter or canna-oil. I have also made canna-butter and canna oil using the crock pot method but the machine is SO much easier and faster.

Okay you take 5 pills of 30 milligrams Oxycodone a day plus methadone a day that is absolutely drug seeking Behavior and no doctor in their right mind will write that medication anymore I am sorry but you are screwed now your body needs that medication so you don't withdrawal my advice to you is get on Suboxone and go on ibuprofen 800 stick it out because those pain medications trust me I've taken them you will never be normal again

Hello I'm a patient at the CPR I have cancer and I have to have my medicine does anyone know what is going on at CPR? I don't know what to do I just moved here been going to CPR since feb
Can anyone help me my appointment is Wednesday and I just found this out by looking on here can someone be my friend and help me I also just had surgery and now I'm scared to be without my medicine and being sick with cancer to is no help
Please anyone could help me and my disabled husband I would be so thankful

This is weird! I got a call from another pharmacy in lake wood saying they had the Rx for me to pick up and I only see one dr now and that's for pm well and cancer doctor and orthopedic doctor and they said they were ready for me to pick them up.
I said what do you mean, I don't see no doctor that would call anything in for me and I have never been there before to get an RX. Come to find out it was someone at CPR that did it. Another doctor wrote them but it was not my pain medication and it's garbage neurontin and some other crap. Wtf!!! They think that's going to keep me out of withdrawal hell no. I'm a dam nurse and I'm not stupid. I'm not a addict but after you take opioids for ten years even they way you are suppose to, after a few hours your body goes into withdraw. I don't give a f*** who you are, it happens no matter if u abuse it or not. So people that say you don't unless you abuse it, well I got news for you all that think that!!! You are dead wrong and I would never wish the feeling of it on no one. It can kill you and do worse, make you wish u was dead. I'm a nurse so I know all about medicine. Any doctor that would put the patients in jeopardy is a dum a** box of rocks and doesn't care about nothing but money, even if u fail a u/a they should wean you off not cut the patient off, that's so dangerous and they don't care.

If they start getting sued for it this would stop. They need to be cut off and get help but do it over a 6 week time or longer. CPR doesn't care but about the money, I know what happened to them and I will tell you. The dr is hateful to some patients, well one really got mad because they kicked them out!!! So the patient started with the withdrawals and got mad and turned mean. So he went to the medical board and told them what happened to him and who did it and it cause him a lot of trouble medically, so he filed a complaint and they started checking into it. Well they found the doctor did not address the patients other medical problems before stopping him cold turkey and he had high b/p and it was not addressed and a few other things that did not pertain to pain management but the medical board checked into it and I guess they got mad also and made him come in front of the board for this and answer why and how the B/p was overlooked and a few other things like other illegal drugs, methamphetamine and so on. So I guess they pulled his license and he told me that he had to take a exam this week, that's why they had to reschedule all of us, but he had to be in the medical review meeting on the 19th so I guess that's when he could not do the pm no more for now maybe never, but some doctor is in there now calling in and delivered RX to be picked up, but not your pain pills for some reason, but I still have not got a phone call from them yet!!!!

I found a doctor to take me in but he wants to start rite off the bat cutting me off my oxcodone. Due to some thing I can not take extended release meds at all, it will kill me. So does anyone know a doctor I can get into that will keep me on the same meds I have always been on without wanting to change me? Can someone help me get a phone number or anything. I'm scared I'm going to get sick go into withdraws and have no meds and I am sick with cancer messed up back messed up arms. I was hit by a semi truck and I'm still not over this. And now this has happened with CPR !!! Can anyone help me? I just feel like this is my last few days, I know it's not but it feels that way. I'm scared of getting sick on top of everything else someone please help me and the rest of us someone talk to me {edited for privacy}. Everyone have a great day and I pray for us all. I thought my prayers where answered until I seen what the doctor called back and left me a message.

WENDY.. Dr. Dex now charges $500 for initial visit (it went up from $420). $320 every 2 months..although you only see him every other month.

Hello every one I been apart of the group I have not yet found a doc that will give you a large amount but this is one I found I been going when I can afford it will any one be willing to help me with 2 months of meds I'm very ill right now, but if you have records on hand and can sign a release for them he will help and give you your script but he knows seekers and vary vary smart about what he gives bring at least your last 6 months of pain logs or pharmacy letters saying you been on your meds for at least 6 months he will need updated medical records his name is Dr Joseph Anderson and your all gone love me he on 84th look him up he cost 95 dollars each visit and on going is 85 each month so plz call he don't do no insurance and like I sed you need proof to show this works the meds your on he will need MRI if you have crags and past medical records he's a great man of his word be good to him and is there any one sling to help me for my 2 months I'm out of a job so I just can support my way I'm in pain as we speak so if any one will help me out would be great no I'm not begging but I do need a l help in my time .of my great need thanks I hope you all find him he's one the best and don't just take 6/7 hundred dollars he a great doc .so can any one willing to help me out thanks take advantage .you thank me later

Hi folks, Wendy I see you're meeting at cpr tomorrow at 1:30 so I'll see you then. Yes, I'm ok but I'm extremely concerned for my ex. I've called Cc's doc suggestion as her suggestion was for a regular PCP. So it seems most "pain mgmt" doc's have an agreement when and what type of treatment is available for Medicaid ppl and that includes injections only. He's already reached max inj for the year and he has bimonthly scripts b/c his qty is very high. He also has blood clot in his leg that went to his lungs last year so there's an added concern over his blood pressure. He's 50yrs old so a PCP is preferable. Yes, I really like Hong. I was pleasantly surprised that an Asian doc is exploring this field and also open to many different treatment modalities. I want to move into a much more holistic approach for my own body. My thoughts on this cpr doc missing debacle is that any office that runs under one doc alone is at risk that deals with pain patients only b/c the govt transferred liability to the doc. Doctors can lose their license, livelihood and means to practice based on accusation and investigation of a doc. Even if doc is innocent their practice is shut until investigation is concluded. They did not write supporting legislation for the protocol to follow for patients that are displaced under this scenario if there doc comes under scrutiny as a result of patients accusations filed with dea. Therefore, the doctor I see I have the same concern that I had when I was a patient at cpr b/c there is only one doctor at the practice. Cc6, thank you for sharing your doc info. You may have saved my ex life. I'm sorry your txt was misinterpreted by some who read it. I figured you'd clarify anyway and thought you meant you needed transportation. Idk why I thought that but others thought you meant help with a cruel medication. 10 ppl can hear something and get 10 different descriptions. I think that's what happened on your post. Everyone is out of sorts and sensitive and very sore and I don't believe any criticism was ill intended. Pls accept my apology and also thank you for sharing. Amanda will do it right then and there. I paid a lot to get this referral, I would've paid anything. She wanted to know. I only pay 2.00 now. That saves me 243 per month and pharmacy don't see CPR AND TREAT ME AS A JUNKIE. I'M GRATEFUL FOR HER. MY PAIN IS UNDER CONTROL.

You're on more than alot of people actually quite a bit actually your pretty lucky. I wish I just got the 30mg of oxycodone maybe 40 a day I'd be slot better off. I was getting 6 a day 60mg, 3 soma 350, ea. AND 3 VALIUM 10s. I quit yhat doc cold turkey l as t Nov found thanksgiving I had nothing now I'm getting 5s hydos 2 per day on disability can't eork, electrician for over 35yrs. I eoildnt complain.
