Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 267)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Basically it is morphine equivalent, you can convert yr current med by just doing a Google search, after that, Dr Lincoln will refer u over to another pain specialist, there was been some govt chat about significantly lowering those amounts or denying inuance coverage which is why a lot of us are trying to lower our dosages if possible

I have been hoping to the same Dr. And she is amazing. She is going to send me for steroid injections and I'm scared to death. ..I don't know what to expect. Any Dr. That I know of will not give you what you want. .they will try all alternatives to see what works and not go off of what you think just because you have been on them for years. I have been on the same needs for years and now she wants me to try the fentanyl patches and that scares me as well because U have never tried them. ...any suggestions on the steroid shot and patches?

Hi...I am on 175 micrograms if The patch and have been for years. I'm extremely satisfied with this pain-abiding plan.? In COLORADO it costs me over $300 for meds and $300 for office visit (every other month). It been nearly 2 years and I'm very happy.

New patient, they will lower u to 300 mg per month 90 of break through med and 60 extended release .You won't be getting 300 mg of morphine anymore doctors here go by dea, medicade guidelines. And yes medicade pays for patch

I pay out of pocket for my meds and have been for years. My morphine just went up from 160 to 240.....I work but it seems like I'm working just to pay rent and pay for my dr visits and meds. I pay 160 every month for my dr visits. AI don't know what to do. ...I just hope the patch works. When do you change them etc.?

Re: Lori (# 5316) Expand Referenced Message

Price is not a problem? Lucky. I would kill to be able to afford the initial visit cost just that one time so I don't have to convince my doc it's okay to prescribe what I've always been on without a big fuss. No way I can do $800 or even $376. Could probably swing the $160 monthly but no way on the initial cost. You are clearly blessed.

Do you know if Sas still can prescribe sleep medications like zolpidem? I know they are no longer accepting pain patients.

Does medicaid need to pre authorize the fetanyl patches? I've decided to put my big girl panties on and go with the floor as far add the patches are concerned. The steroid shots have to wait until I'm feeling better because I twisted my back at work on Saturday and have been lying down n trying to relax. ...not even the thc is helping. ....that's unusual. ..

I go to the Dr. Soon and would appreciate any info y'all could provide as far as billing is concerned. Does the pharmacy need to pre authorize fentalyn patches before you get them? Thank you in advance.

Re: MaC686 (# 14) Expand Referenced Message

Hi. I came across your post, can you tell me the name of the doctor in denver that was able to help you? I am moving to Denver and in need of the same. Thank you.

I've been on buprenorphine (similar to suboxone) for 3 1/2 years, and on clonazepam for eight years. My current doctor has me on both medications due to social phobia, PTSD, and opiate replacement therapy. I have been on a very slow taper from clonazepam for a few months, but when I move to Aurora, CO in Dec. 2017, I am in need of a doctor that is willing to work with me and be open-minded to my situation. Does anyone know of a doctor or psychiatrist in the denver area (am willing to travel, if necessary) that is open-minded and will be willing to prescribe these medications together? I will be reapplying for Medicaid once in Colorado but understand I may need to pay out of pocket until I can possibly get coverage. Any help or positive input would be highly appreciated. I don't want to end up in detox, that has happened before, and a quick taper from the higher dose of clonazepam I have been on for a long time gave me severe agoraphobia for a VERY long time. I do NOT want to have to go through that horrible experience again. For the first time in years I am mentally balanced, go to 12 step meetings, but this is very concerning to me that I may not find a doctor in the Denver area that is willing to help or work with me at a slower pace. If you know of a good dr., please let me know. I am placing this in God's hands, but I can only do the footwork.

Re: JOJO (# 5337) Expand Referenced Message

Mac is no longer with us. ...He past away. If you read through all the posts there are names for a few Dr's in the Denver metro area but you have to put in your own work to get them. Dr visits are mostly cash only and vary from 160 to 600 or more, you just have to be open minded and be willing to pay out your a**??..lol...There are alot of good Dr's in the area that are willing to see you as long as you have all the proper documentation and test results. They have guidelines and are very thorough. Once you find your Dr. hang on to him because they are cracking down and it's hard to find and keep a good Dr. I wish you luck in your search and may God bless you with strength and health.
