Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 251)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

My mother needs a medicaid doctor as she can't afford to pay 600 ECT a month. She's on a budget. This is crazy. They will not release her till she has an appointment set up.

Cecei6...

I'm confused..is it you or your Mom that is struggling? Your mom most likely will have to pay something.... if you read back you will see that many of us are on Medicaid, have been deemed too disabled to work full-time and can barely pay basic living expenses, let alone the cost of a pain specialist and more recently, I for one now have to pay some of the cost of the meds because Medicaid does not agree with my doctor that I need all the pain meds that I do indeed need to function and have been on for over 2 years. There are virtually no pain docs that take Medicaid; however, there are several good pain docs that take cash/credit. The initial visit consult fees can be high and then the monthly fees avg to about $150-$200 per month. My heart goes out to you (I lost my sis for the exact same reason) and I know what I am writing is not what you want nor need to hear. But this is the way it is and I fear greatly that things will continue to spiral downwards and the result will be an increase in suicides, shut-ins, you name it. Our quality of life is difficult no matter how you look at it. The best advice:

1. Take an hour or two and read back as far as necessary to get the names of several providers and their details.

2. Try calling medicaid for assistance.

3. Google google google and then call call call. Before making an appt. tell them the meds you (or your Mom) are currently on and ask if they support that regimen.

Side note: if anyone else out there is being prescribed percocet, vicodin or any other tylenol mixed agent on a daily and/or long term basis,...Find another dr asap. Any medical professional knows the risk of tylenol - and it is why there is oxycodone (percocet w/o the tylenol). I strongly suggest your Mom get her liver evaluated via a simple blood draw.

I wish you both the best. Lately I feel like "survival of the fittest" has never been more fitting than in these horrible times for chronic pain patients. God Bless and God Speed!!

Hey all, new to the site. I, like most I see, am in need of a good doctor that will prescribe pain meds. I was in a life threatening accident Mar 2016. I was tboned in a tiny Acura by a stolen Ford F250 @ 80mph right to my driver door. Yes 80. I shouldn't be alive. I sustained a TBI and SCI, spent 3 months in the hospital and 6 weeks of it was spent at Craig Hospital. I have severe pelvic, lower back, and hip pain due to SCI and open book pelvic break. Without my pain meds I literally spend my days laying in bed, on the couch, or on the floor. I have a 1 y/o son that has been the coal in my fire that keeps it rolling. But on the same token, having such a traumatic accident happen at 23 makes me know I have a long life of pain ahead of me. Makes me suicidal because life is s***. It was ruined in a split second. He ran a red light. No fault of my own. On disability and probably won't be able to work ever again. My doctors have taken away my pain medication. They don't feel like I should be on them. As if I don't have an SCI. I need a doctor in Brighton, Greeley, Ft Lupton, anywhere up NE. Even if I have to drive to denver. My meds are my lifeline.

Hello again everyone....Sorry posts are not very consistent and very sporadic. I received my mri results and my ddd had worsened and they confirmed that I did tear meniscus. They did change my meds....But for the better. I only pay $150 monthly...As opposed to the $200 that cpr was charging. I love this place and I don't think that I'll ever switch. Everyone is so very friendly. I hope everyone is doing better. {edited for privacy}. I'm in westminster as well.

I am so tired of paying so much for pain meds that I want to try and taper off in 2017. Does anyone know of a doctor that will prescribe "comfort meds" to help ease withdrawal? I do not want subs... I want clonidine and gabapentin. Thanks in advance. Also, if anyone has tapered off with support from their pain management doctor, I would like to read about that experience.

Ultimate pain relief alternative. I have 2 years of extreme pain with ulcerative colitis and psoriatic arthritis. I have tried humira, otezla, methotrexate, narcotics and countless over the counter drugs. I now am in complete remission and have NO PAIN. I use a combination of curcumin and kratom. NOTHING ELSE. No side effects. Please try this. It is truly a miracle.

CECEI6...

I wish you and your Mom my best. Plz tell your Mom that as a survivor of a familial suicide that even tho I understood her reasons (chronic and severe pain) that 8 years later I still dream of her and think of her daily. It spiraled me into a severe depression like never before and nearly 9 years later the pain is almost as real as the moment I discovered it. I know being in chronic pain affects EVERY area of your life. Do NOT give up. There is a solution. I've often read that when people who failed their suicide attempts were interviewed something like 90 %+ were ultimately glad they survived. GodSpeed!

My name is Corey and I have entered into an area of my pain meds and high doses. I am judged by the same people who have been in the partnership of my life having the opportunity to be destroyed literally. I am not able to get that feeling of being where my pain is manageable with suboxone it takes my withdrawal symptoms away from me but not close to being able to make it through life and physically and mentally. The pain is manageable with opiates and I don't have time for the other interventions to make it to that point I don't know what to do I have had four neck surgeries that are all broke the hardware two screws that are titanium are broken in my neck have had 8 hip surgeries in the since 2013. The last for being your last three being in last 4 months with MRSA and I need to find a doctor that will work with me I'm willing to take drug test and all that to be gradually wind down or till I can get a treatment that is effective which I think would be the will be the intrathecal pump. Can you help me out with anyone who wants to help people in my position? I have not even tried heroin but I am judged by the time I've been addicted to them for pain and I have every reason for being in chronic pain and suffering from the other aspects of the whole anti-narcotic government propaganda and power over Drs. In the last year. My name is Corey and I'm 36 and don't want to be destroyed literally because of this. If you could help me out with anyone who has compassion then email me at {edited for privacy}. thank u very much for your time with this...!!!

Confused,

Colorado Pain Relief offers both. They also have another side that handles getting off your medication. They are off of Kipling, I think in Wheat Ridge. They will help you

@Post #5007 (D3ft0n35),

The only place I can recommend is Colorado Pain Relief in Wheat Ridge. Call and they will tell you what you need to bring in. They are very nice, but you can not use ANYTHING else for pain. No Marijuana, nothing. You have a U/A every month that is sent out to a lab, do not try fake urine. They are not cheap, cash only, but they get it!
