Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 164)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Anna, you are very blessed your sister was able to have the surgery.
I have had a cystocle and a rectocle now for 5 years. I have to use the bathroom standing in a shower or push my organs back inside. I sure your sister can totally explain it. I have begged Kaiser for the surgery, The Medical Center of The Rockies was going to do emergency surgery, but Kaiser threatened them that if they touched me other than to run blood work, they would not cover the bill. Even though that hospital is a Banner Hospital. Kaiser picks and chooses who they help and who they allow to die.

Oh thank you hunny I don't have immune system, I would love to meet you but when your well. Ladies gents I'm so stupid, we could of done a video chat for the meeting although I'm more of a hugger, personal touch gal you can't hand a tissue thru a lap top. Tonight is about meeting each other getting contacts, having someone on call to call when one of us is bad off.

Wendy,
Oh geez, I'm sorry. I must have clicked "respond" on the wrong message. I will have to go back through the forum to see the person I was trying to respond to. I'd really like to join you all tomorrow, but I've been terribly sick with a temp on and off for days. I'd hate to expose anyone to a cold/flu when we already suffer enough with pain and illness. I believe I put in a request for private communication with you Wendy. I know that you have been facilitating all of the support group stuff which is so awesome of you!

Wendy, reading your message about your husband was like reading my own story. I was married for four years. My husband was wonderful in the beginning. He knew that I had health problems. When we first met I had just had another laparoscopic surgery and wasn't doing well. He took the best care of me. I never allowed this from anyone before, I've always felt like a burden with being sick so often, in pain, in and out of hospitals, surgeries etc... I actually got pregnant about a year after we were together which was a miracle because I was told that I probably wouldn't be able to conceive and if I decided that I wanted to, that I should let my doctors know so they could start fertility treatments. Well, I didn't need them! My pregnancy was rough and I couldn't take any pain meds... I didn't even drink a drop of caffeine. Anyway, long story (not so short) He started becoming distant, he acted like 'Oh, you're sick again, you're ALWAYS sick' "you can't miss another day of work!" Even though while I was with him, I was taking care of our child and working full time. His job was (and still is) cake. I can't say on this forum what he does for a living but, well, we can private message sometime if you'd like. I just don't want to put too many personal things on here where anyone can read. I think he just assumed that I would get better... I have chronic illnesses that aren't curable. I always pushed myself and did way more than I should have been doing but he grew to resent me. He served me with papers... (a lot of really bad things happened that I can't get into) Well, anyway, it's been five years, he still manages to make me feel so small and pathetic. I wish I didn't have to ever interact with him, but we share a child so... How long have you and your husband been together? My ex has issues of his own and he has a superiority complex. I could go on and on about him, ugh. I'm sorry that you and you husband are having these rough times and I'm here if you'd ever like to talk.

Rainbow Flowers, I'm so sorry I'm just now seeing your message on the thread. I haven't been on the forum in over a week. My sister had a full hysterectomy and bladder and rectal prolapse surgery. They only gave her IV pain meds for about an hour while she was in post op recovery, but when they moved her to her room, they started giving her 2, 5mg percocets. She was also having panic attacks so bad that she was hyperventilating and couldn't sleep. They wouldn't give her the lorazepam that she takes. She only takes 0.5 like once or twice a day... maybe a total of 1mg for a whole day. She hardly takes any meds to begin with and they were just awful. I was so frustrated I couldn't see straight! My sister has been through so much this year, breast cancer, double mastectomy, chemo, and then this last surgery... I'm just appalled at health care (or lack there of) these days. Thanks for your kind words :) I haven't had an outlet for all of these feelings about my health issues and my family... and the experiences with different hospitals and doctors so I really appreciate everyone in this forum showing concern and support, it means so much!

Got an email article today about food that sabotages sleep. Food to avoid before bed, celery, tomatoes, cheese pizza, alcohol, black bean chili, dark chocolate, gum drops, tacos, steak, soft drinks, dagwood sandwich, and broccoli.
Don't know that I eat any of that before bed anyway :).
