Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 152)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Wendy, are you really that dumb, or do you just not know how to read? I found a PCP, that simply called my old doc in WA to verify things, looked at my MRI and imaging and agreed to keep me going just as my old doc did. I have found a good doc. I have no need to search and go doctor shopping because everything I have had done is legit and documented. Everything is covered by insurance and I don't need to give cash to shady clinics.

I just think it is of absolutely no help when a person comes here asking for a reference to a doctor for help, only to be told to look through the mess that is this thread. Maybe the concept of this is too much to wrap your head around. As for being "hostil"....it is spelled "HOSTILE", and no, I am not hostile, I am just not some bleeding heart that coddles people. I will call BS when I see it.

I work in an industry where you have to call out what isn't right, or hundreds of people die. I will not apologize for my opinion that if you are in a group such as this, where people are here to help find medical help, that you tell someone seeking such help to search out their own info, you won't share your doctor. If your doctor instructed you not to refer people to him, he is shady. A doctor is more than capable of weeding out the seekers and the junkies from those that have a legitimate problem. If they prescribe to seekers, they get what they have coming.

Jet... The reason you keep getting the name "CPR" is because that's where several people have resorted to going. It is NOT a pill mill. From what I understand, you are subject to UAs, etc. I don't go there... I don't know.
I personally have a pcp that prescribes what little meds I take. I live in the Springs and have been through a couple of pain managements. Dr. Lippert only does injections... And Dr. Makinky was good but we got to an impass about more injections. There are no easy answers to the pain management question... If so, you wouldn't have found us through searching the web. I have gone through trial and error for over two years... And many people have gone on for much longer than that.
We welcome you as part of this group... We're not holding out on you... There is no conspiracy. I really hope you find someone to help you. And, we're here in the meantime.

Jet, What is your problem ? Your hostel.Sounds to me , you are angry doctors won't write you Rx .Real patients know it takes awhile to find a good doctor .

NEWBIES: Please don't come on here asking for suggestions. Google as Wen said and FOR THE LAST TIME repeated the nane of a place she knows of. It's repeated on almost any page. My suggestion..if u want to be a member of our pain group, we are to support each other, make each other laugh but most of all...our group loves getting to know others whp know how difficult life is living with chronic pain.

Get your last 3-6 months of Office Visit Notes, get all MRIs and Xrays together right away. Start calling some places that you found on google and ask them what types of modalaties they use. This way you know if it's a good fit or not without paying a penny. If you are a true chronic pain sufferer and have documents to support this, it may take a few phone calls but I'm sure you can find someone and get a fairly quick appt. So be prepared.

Again, all are welcome to this pain group..again..it's just about living with chronic pain...has very little to do with meds so if that's what you are looking for..you are definitely in the wrong place.

Honey I wish I had ice as an excuse! :) Sunday I fell next to the bed and hit the table with my eye and head. Husband had to help stop bleeding cause of my blood thinners. Yesterday I fell over one of our dogs.
I told Cindy, but I haven't been talking about it, cause for some reason it has really affected my mental well being. I hit the mental pits and can't seem to pull myself out this time?

I did scan this entire thread. From the day I started, it was 101 pages. This post is on page 125. So, I am well aware of where to go in this area. And CPR.....pill mill. They just make one jump through some hoops first. I found a regular old PCP that saw documented proof of my condition and put me on the exact same therapy as my doc in Washington. It is not a seeker going to a doc that flags the DEA. It is the fact that the doctor doesn't care enough about being thorough and performing his due diligence in weeding out the junkies. Colorado is nowhere near as bad for pill seekers as you all believe. The Pacific Northwest has the worst opiate abuse of anywhere in NORTH AMERICA. Behind that is GA and FL. Nearly every doctor in Utah gives a 60 pill hydrocodone script for a sprained pinky finger! Yes, CO has some issues, but the DEA is in no way focused here. They are cracking down nation wide..... As for people here having problems, I don't care. I will help those that I can....but compassion for people is something I find to be a waste of time and an invitation to screw me.

I fell last Sunday morning and goofed up my eye. Finally went to the doctor yesterday, didn't feel well enough to go before that. Got home and fell again. This time it's my knees and back I goofed up.

Jet mech... The posting wasn't 100 pages ago... The name has been posted several times in the last 5 pages or so. We ARE trying to be helpful without causing too many problems. If your life is so busy that you can't at least SCAN a few pages to help yourself, then here... Let us do all that important work for you... Because, wow, none of US had to spend ANY time looking for a doctor or getting to know each other so we could form trustworthy relationships. Since you haven't looked back at the posts, you're not aware that a few of the people on here are really struggling right now... Like, their lives are crumbling a bit around them some days. Have some compassion, please.

Wow....... that's all I can say. If it's that important than they can read through NOT EVEN a hundred pages to find the name of a doctor but the ones I know aren't accepting new PM patients anyway. If you want to be rude, take it elsewhere. We don't need that here. Even people with an hour could read the postings to find the doctor being described, but they very well may not even accept new pain patients. I find this to be rude on YOUR part, not Wendy's. If finding a doctor is an important thing then THEY WILL DO WHAT THEY HAVE TO in order to find treatment. Please take your bad attitude elsewhere. We don't want nor do we need to hear or be a part of it. No one is being mean to you. It has taken us much time to find good doctors for us, and maybe we don't want to just spread their name like wildfire. And that is exactly what happens when the name is spread. Speaking for myself and I'm sure many others on this forum, it's not "let me post and I will immediately find the doctor that will supply me with what whatever I want." It has taken all of us a great amount of time to find our doctors and we aren't willing to just give up their name to some random person who we have ZERO idea of who they are, and very quite possibly put our good doctors in a bad situation. CO is #1 in the country for pill abusers. Take that into account before you start being nasty to people on here who have done great things to point others in a good direction. Uggghhhh

I found help. But when I see a rude reply to someone that just may actually have a life and not have time to read over 100 pages that have no organization....I get irate. So before you give me attitude about the B.S. of join us or find somewhere else.....practice up on your reading comprehension and read my reply. It was in defense of a person coming to this group for help....only to be told to read the whole thing....and that the rude poster won't share the name of her doctor.
I really don't care if I get banned or not. I prefer to associate with pee that help everyone who needs it.

Jetmech.... There was a big problem that reared its ugly head on here a month or so ago. Some people came on here being really rude and were banned... And their posts deleted. That's the piece you're missing and I'm sorry it has caused you to feel unsupported. That whole situation came about from a simple question... And it got ugly fast. Taking the time to do as Wendy suggested will be beneficial. It is NOT meant to be passive aggressive or anything like that.

Ya I know they are im sure its cuz they got alot of new pain managment patients so quickly but I dnt I only take wat they give me I was just suprised cuz I been their 4 months after startin with them I was open 2 doin them every visit like wit all other drs that do them eveytime u go in but its good that way we know who is doing pain managment rite and who is nt

Jet mech everyone told you ten timeswhere to go .I've told you at least three now Google pain management in Denver .Noone is going to give up their doctor anymore .It floods them with seekers and red flags the Dea .I'm very sorry as the President of our pain group .Either join us or seek help elsewhere .
