Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 144)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

I love all of you guys thanks for all of the support. I'm ready for our group meeting. I'm still bed bond with the shunt. I'm can't find a neuro that will take medicaid. So far I'm ok. Everyone Susie right we all are worried over what happens at one clinic with the Dea it effects us all. Please don't let some guy bring u down or insult us because he found a doctor willing to listen to his bs. Keep going to Cpr or Smiths. I have a list from medicaid that has pain management doctors. Everyone we can have a meeting here or potluck asap I miss all of u.

There has been a lot of competition between some of the medical facilities in the Denver area. Someone decided to sink to a new low, of calling DEA and reporting the other facility for violations of DEA policy. The facility that was "ratted on", is who told that they had been reported and were being inspected for violations. No law prohibits the inspected or investigated facility from telling the whole world what's happening.

Question: Why would you think that we don't want to be "cured" or "fixed"?

2nd Question: Why do you think that we don't use alternative means for pain control, other than our pain medication?

No one is committing any federal infraction by discussing DEA ongoing investigations. The "BS" as you call it, comes from the discussions of DEA memos concerning compliance with DEA policy. The "civilians" are in a state of panic, because of DEA memos. "Civilians" react to DEA memos, the same as IRS memos, with fear. There should be a huge difference between an agency developing a policy and an enforceable law, but that hasn't always been so. As "civilians" have been subjected to "monetary penalties" and even jail time for violation of a federal agency's "policy", they are scared. Result - lots of rumors.

jetmech2 I dont know want you pain is from but some of us may look ok from the outside but know one knows what is going on inside that you dont see that causes some off us great pain. People that have cronic pain should be calling it intractable pain, intractable pain can not be fixed by ant surgery or any other way. Most drs. see cronic pain as some thing that physical therapy or stimulators can help so they dont want to give high doses of pain meds which is the only way some of us civilians can get out of bed and live a half way normal life. I've been on pain meds for over 20 yrs and been through every test and therapy the drs. told me to do. the legit pain patients have seem to have lost some of our rights because we have to live on pain meds which isn't that great of a life, i've had surgery which didnt solve the pain seems that i,m in more pain now than before surgery. those of you that say you have cronic pain need to be refering to it as intractable pain instead of cronic. there are drs. that have practices that treat intractable pain as they can give higher doses of meds dependining on your type of pain. jetmech2 I was in air force so us civilians do know a thing or two about our own bodies and how much pain we are in and what it takes to control the pain.

Your taking it wrong .I've been personally told by two patients from the Smith what's going on .Plus I been there when he's told my husband he's letting go off CPR patients they get a lot of drug seekers know .Why is everyone concerned if your not with Cpr or The Smith mind your own business JETMECH . EVERYONE this started because of a pharmacy a noisy gal .A x cpr person was mad because they couldn't get meds from Smith either they called Dea .The Smith now have to watch p' s and q's .There not pain management there not suppose to write high narcotics long term .

I would love to know where any of you, just plain old civilians get any knowledge of what the DEA is doing, or who they are watching. The government works on a very strict need to know basis....especially when it comes to investigations. I highly doubt a single one of you works for the DEA, and if you know anyone that does, they are committing a federal offense by telling you a single word about an ongoing investigation or action.
I was at my doc today and showed him this thread and he said that in his entire career he has never read so many rumors and semi informed BS in one place.
Some PCPs are shedding the chronic pain treatments because they are sick of dealing with addicts....not because of laws making them. The fact being that no one knows a patient and their history and needs as well as their primary doctor.
As I said before, many will try to find and treat the cause of the pain, and with technology improving constantly, more issues that used to leave people in agony for life are being fixed and people leading pain free productive lives without pain meds. People with things like Lupus and other debilitating diseases....there is no fixing that,......yet. a very good friend here in denver has suffered with Lupus for a very long time and I hope someday a cure is found.

Thator the patient is lying about their pain so its not matching with records, so say patient g went to cpr saying their pain was really bad and x was prescribed but when patient g went to the smiths told them its not too bad but still need more than ibuprofen so when they get the records red flag the other clinic over prescribed! No it was the patient or maybe the smiths over prescribed and finally seen that cpr was doing everything right and patient g is lying. Either way no one really knows so before bad mouthing talk to them (patient g) because with hippa and all that alone can get any clinic in trouble. Pcp cannot prescribe over a certain amount right now and pain management clinics can so either way eventually you will have to find another one if you went to cpr cause they won't take you back/can't. And your picks are very very slim.

My point is this: if the DEA says that according to the CPR records that the S's received, people are over-medicated... Then it shouldn't matter who's treating them. Wendy said the medications don't match the pain on record... That has nothing to do with the S's.. The over-medication came from CPR.

Frank is right to a point. The Smiths are not pain management in fact there not Doctors. They are PA. When you let out the Smith info Rainbow they got flooded by every drug seeker in Colorado that doesn't want to pay 180 .Mr Smith wasn't aware of what CPR was until someone told him from CPR exactly what's going on .The people that were dismissed from CPR tried to go to Smith and we're also turned away they called Dea on Smith .All records are being reviewed and a lot of Smith patients are being cut. They wouldn't of been there in first place but a lot were honest. You can have an injury or records but if it happened ten yrs ago your going to be reviewed. Cpr isn't under investigation they got rid of anyone they felt abused the system .They are pain management if u get fired from pain management I heard that your screwd. Why are you worried rain ? The worst that can happen is the Smith will not take pain patients

Ok people CPR is a pain management clinic so why would they be on alert? The smiths are not pain management and like it or not laws are changing so unfortunately you will have to go to pain management for chronic pain. Not trying to be mean but when someone says its fishy if the smiths are on alert but cpr is not does not mean its cpr's fault, if you have chronic pain you are supposed to go to pain management for long-term treatment not a pcp, ect.

So im nt sure if im sayin or understandin this rite but I never went 2 CPR but wendy ur sayin that ppl were on 2 much meds that really didnt any and that with they records it showed that they really didnt need pain meds

Is CPR on alert?? If they were writing the meds based on the same records the S's got, then CPR should be under fire, as well. If they aren't something fishy is going on...

Yes I do know why they are cutting people .They finally got records from clients from CPR ETC they don't match up with actual pain over medicated. Dea is now watching every script they write .No more high oxycotin unless your dying .I can't see him because he can't write 40 mg long lasting oxy and it makes him mad I'm legit. When they got flooded by seekers from Cpr it put them on alert now pharmacy are calling Dea .Their going to start reduce ing meds and sending patients off to pain management .They get 30 people a day wanting high doses of meds .There gonna do bottle counts U a,
