Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 129)
UpdatedI have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Hi everyone
Hey wendy how are u
Hi, Wendy!!!!! How are you??? I've never even met you but I cried yesterday when your hubby messaged us. I've been praying!
Wendy or Tom
What's going on? Did the social worker get anything started for you? What did they say you should do to control the pain?
Wendy how are you doing? I'm hoping you are still in the hospital and someone is working on getting your Medicaid approval for you.
Wendy tom do u guys need anything? did they keep you in the hospital? did the hospital call medicaid since wat u need is an emergency???

Obviously lots of us are looking for a good pain med dr. in Colorado. I've been looking 10 years. I'm in Las Vegas and sick of it. Please pass on any info {edited for privacy}
Rainbow, Have him drink a ton and after ten days it should b out of his system! He may still have some metabolites but would b so small they wouldn't indicate anything! Quick question, I know CPR doesn't take Medicaid but if u submit bills to them will they reimburse u?
Hi Tony,
Any luck?? I too have RSD/CRPS.. my Doctor back in NYC was brilliant. I've effectively managed this disease, along with my spinal issues (herniated discs, listhesis, etc). I have systemic RSD. balance issues, dizziness, memory lapses, etc... With intense burning in my back neck and face... Anyways, moving to Boulder Colorado from NYC, I have now had to travel back to NY twice JUST to see my Doctor. He is even bewildered at how difficult it is here to find a Doctor. I've called about 10 places, 5 primary, all of them booked, not taking new patients - or, the ones that are, I have sent them my Medical records and the review process is taking upwards to 3 to 4 weeks now.. I am making my supply last but I will run out... And I see many people on here in the same position.. I also see many people on here coming to just look for Pain Meds and not discuss their issues of pain.. ie, drug seeking! But I know how all of you feel -- The government is cracking down, making it impossible to manage pain .. I know for thousands of years people got thru their pain.. in part its why they lived such short lives and human life span has increased in recent decades thru better, proper care -- Pain management included..
But, without medications.. its horrible, crippling pain... I do have an appointment with "CROM" on Monday. I was so happy on the phone that I got an appointment. My Doctor is calling them to assure my treatment .. Also, even if they don't prescribe meds which have been effective, I am hoping he can do some other alternative treatments. I also have an appointment with a Primary Care's P.A. on Monday in Boulder... also to provide my background, MRI's, Xrays...
So, I know why Doctors are reluctant. I get it. I been thru the ringer with this. I get drug panels every month by my Doctor. 10 years of this, never failed. Always have left over medications that I bring in with me. Perhaps why he was so helpful b/c I am VERY open about my problems or any issues, dependency that may develop taking such medications.
I hope you are getting relief Tony. Where is your RSD? how did it start? How long have you had it now? mine started with a fractured ankle - I was told to walk on it in a week.. at my initial ER and Doctor visit I told them I had moderate pain about 5 inches below my knee.. they called it "referred pain"... So I walked and my ankle dislocated in the cast b/c I had a BROKEN LEG totally missed in the xray!!! So much nerve damage, I get RSD.. then complicate that with a fractured vertabae, dislocated vertebrae and herniated discs in my lower back and neck is why the RSD has become so body wide.... been dealing with this for 10 plus years. I still however, live some kind of life.. work occasionally, am able to get to the gym on occasion too...
Anyways, nice to meet ya and everyone else on this thread!
Many thanks
Marc J

If that's the only time and amount, it should be out of his system in 3 days. If you take something more often and more of it, it takes longer to go away. Marijuana and other herbs stay lots longer, 30 days or so.
Oh ok thanks CO Susie I dnt no alot bout that stuff I just no tha basic rules of pain managment but nt alot bout meds my brother hasnt called me yet so idk wats up he has had both knees replaced and hips and his back is bad so he wil be startin pain managment
The time things remain in your system vary greatly depending on the individual....and the substance.
A synthetic drug like Hydrocodone or Dilaudid or Oxy will be eliminated on average of 3 to 5 days. A natural drug like Morphine, Codiene or Marijuana can take 30 days up to about 6 weeks. The longer numbers are for those that carry some extra body fat.
If a doctor prescribes you a medicine, a legitimate doctor...even a pain management doc will not count this against you. These docs that do have issues and are worried about something and you should try to find a regular PCP that will work with you. They are out there, and with the ease I found one....once I found a doc that took medicaid....they are not that rare. When a doc is charging you $150 or more...plus your meds....it is a pill mill.
I'm home for now. No new shunt yet. Pain out of control. I'm bed bond three weeks. I do have some neuro to call and get this going .Jet mech a lot of pain management doesn't take insurance doesn't mean their pill mills .They do it to ween out the pill seekers and the ones that sale their meds. Cpr isn't a pill mill I go there and I'm very legit "brain tumor ".Next year PCP, will no longer write narcotics you will have to get from a pain management clinic.
