Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 120)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!
Painpill u are rite on that I wk 2 jobs and even tho I got my meds its still feels like I dnt take any somedays
Thank you! When it comes to chronic pain, you will always hurt. You will never be pain free. You will never be ble to completely function. It f***ing sucks! And if the meds do work for you they will eventually stop
Hey can you let me know if that worked out for you? My uncle is 55 and on Medicaid so he was looking to just pay out of pocket. He just came to Colorado and it seems to be the only way to get what he needs with his broke as back from 30 years of roofing

Texmex, I did wat Teresa said 2 do..she said I need 2 either find another dr or a pain management place so I made a appt with the Strasbourg office cuz they are a part of rocky mnt. went in and told him what Teresa said, mind u when and after dr Ryan I never failed a UA, never got my scripts filled early, never lost or had pain meds stolen. dr Ryan went 2 kaiser same thing with Teresa pass every UA did all her requirements then when Strasbourg office was verifiying my records what Teresa said by look 4 a new dr or pain management cuz being on medicaid u don't have a lot of options so Teresa had her secretary call me and said Teresa FIRED ME from rocky Mt 4 doctoring shopping. I said how, when thats what she told me 2 do? But I'm glad it is working out 4 u. So if I may ask, who did u start seeing there?
PLEASE STOP PROSECUTING DOCTORS FOR DOING THEIR JOB AND TREATING PEOPLE IN PAIN. I SUFFER 24/7/365 from EXCRUCIATING EXCRUCIATING PAIN Do to a horrible car accident and CANNOT GET MEDICAL CARE AND WAS ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING FOR DEMANDING CARE AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL AND WAS REFUSED TO SEE A DR BECAUSE I AM CHRONIC PAIN PATIENT. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!!! My life is ruined, not by my injury, but by the GOVERNMENT HOLDING DRs as PERSONALLY LIABLE - WHEN IN EVERY SINGLE OTHER PROFESSION, YOUR INSURANCE HOLDS YOU EXEMPT FROM YOUR PROFESSIONAL DUTY IN THE CASE OF PERSONAL LIABILITY and as a result of the A**HOLE RICH KIDS IN HOLLYWOOD - I cant get pain treatment or even BE SEEN AT A HOSPITAL!!! This has got to stop - STOP OPPRESSING CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND HUMAN DECENCY!!!! If I was a DOG or HORSE or freakin BUNNY RABBIT I COULD GO TO A VET AND GET PAIN TREATMENT, BUT BECAUSE I AM A HUMAN - I CANNOT!!?? This has GOT TO STOP!!!
Hi,
The DEA is forcing doctors that treat people with chronic pain to stop using opiate pain medicine. These medicines help us live a daily life with the ability to function: bathing, dressing, shopping, walking, and other normal activities.
In their effort to stop illegal drug activities, the DEA is hurting people who need treatment.
That's why I signed a petition to The United States House of Representatives, which says:
"Stop the DEA from making choices for chronic pain patients and their doctors, who are being forced to close their doors to patients. Legal prescriptions of opiate drugs are not the problem, and people are suffering because of the DEA's policies. Hurting people in chronic pain isn't the way to get drugs off the streets."

Thanks!
Hey Miss Rainbowflowers, how are you doing? I'm getting better, so before long I'll be back to "normal" LOL
In reply to Rocky Mountain internal medicine I went there for 5 years. I was getting the medicine I needed to control my pain then I went to another doctor for 2 years. After I lost my health insurance I had to go back to Rocky Mountain clinic. the only doctor that I could see at that time was Teresa. I didn't like her from the very beginning as she doesn't understand what it's like to be in so much pain and then she makes you take a U/A every month you come in. If you don't follow her its exact specifications she won't give you anything to help you with pain or sleep, she'll just refer you out to pain management and the only ones that I could find that I could get in to see only do physical therapy alternative pain management. they will not give out any pain meds at all. well I went to a different clinic. although it was a very good clinic I felt like they were not taking the time with me with all my health issues so I called Rocky Mountain internal medicine for a different reason. come to find out they had added more doctors that I could see under my health insurance, so I went in. I was extremely surprised and very happy to know that I can get the help I need for pain and sleep. if anyone is looking to find a good doctor that will help them with their pain, Rocky Mountain internal medicine is really good. just keep in mind don't ever go to Teresa. most of the other Doctors in the clinic are really great. They have good hours & days to go to even on Saturday. Good Luck.
Craig welcome to are site...um u cld call and try rocky mountain internal medicine their main office is at Mississippi and Potomac but DO NOT DO NOT schedule ur appt with the physician assistant TERESA please she doesnt believe in pain management she wil do her best to fire u about anything even if u follow all rules thats how she DOGGED me after dr Ryan left but all the others mite may cld help u they also have a office on chambers off i-70 good luck
I provided the petition information again. It's addressed to Grandma Pat, but please everyone who hasn't done so, log on, sign, and please help us. Thank you. It's being held for review, so it'll come up soon. Please page back when it does.
Grandma Pat,
This petition was written by a nice lady in AZ, so you'll see the AZ government agencies listed in the address line. The petition website agreed to also address the petition to all the states of people who sign, so that everyone's state will be notified. It also has the federal agencies. Please log on, sign and give us all the help you can.

Craig - I'm not near the Springs sorry. I will tell you that I am having trouble finding a doctor that agrees with me that ritalin kills pain. My 3 prior doctors (all retired for different reasons ugh) all saw and knew that I was serious. There was a few of us that went that direction in pain management. I don't know where they ended up. I'm currently hunting for one that will dose at the proper level. My pcp had me at 1/4 the dose that have me any sort of positive quality of life. Right now I'm in bed 70-80% of the time ant before it was more like in bed 30% of the time. When I find one I'll be sure to update here.
Until then you might consider urgent care to get you thru until your doc is back in town. You'll probably have to file a police report too, but both are better than weeks of withdrawal. If not then call the dr on call and ask for clonidine or something similar. It helps with withdrawal, it's a antihypertensive. Urgent care might be willing to write that for you as well.
I'm sorry you're having trouble. Be sure to check back because people answer it can take a day or two depending. Also if you scroll back on posts at least to September you'll find 5-6 posts with Dr names and numbers.

She's awesome.
Can anybody recommend a good oncologist in Denver metro ?
I'm tying to find a doctor to treat me for chronic and severe pain. I live in Colorado Springs CO. I am a retired lawyer after 30+ years of practice forced to retire as a result of vascular dementia. I have also been treated by my PCP in the past year or two for chronic pain most recently at 360 mgs/day of oxycodone. I also need Adderall to read. I have been taking Adderall by prescription for 10+ years. Recent dose + 60-90 mgs every 4 hours (prescription says only every 6 hours) for over a year. I have never had any complications from the Adderall. I have never had any complications taking opioid analgesics until recently. Here is what happened. As you can see my life is screwed.
On Fri March 13, 2015, my 30-day prescription for oxycodone was stolen. This was not the first time but it is the truth. So I called dr Gary Klein 20+ year PCP and requested an early refill. No response from nurses. I would be out of pills by the following Saturday so I called the office several times Fri March 13 about getting a new script. finally 7 pm I received a call from dr Klein's nurse saying that he would no longer prescribe any "scheduled drugs." In her words, "You're not getting any more pills from Dr. Klein." I asked why, which drugs this bar pertained to (Adderall, anti-dperessants), how long, etc. No coherent response. Unbeknownst to me Dr. Klein was going on vacation, and there was no way I could talk to him for an explanation of what was happening. We had not discussed changes in dose or medications. I asked about a titration schedule. It's like the nurse had never heard of such a thing. In any event, I have not been able to get a prescription for Adderall or opioid analgesics since then. I can't go through the hoops to find another dr in Colorado Springs where chances of continued opioid analgesic therapy is highly unlikely especially given a prior discontinuation of services by one doctor.
The combination of the dementia (memory loss, apparently repulsive personality, proscrastination, depression, and high level pain when untreated, among other impediments), I don't know what to do. At present rate I will run thru my childrens' inheretence in a year or so. I don't want any favors only to be relatively pain free as I had been a few months ago with the ability to read and write which I could do several months ago. I was working on a book about the loss of human rights in the US and how we have lost our constitutional democracy with the killer instinct we apply to social problems.
