YES I am with you I posted a reply a little while ago about this. I hate being on these meds but without them I have 0 quality of life. I to believe we need to get together and do something to stand up for ourselves, Does anyone out there have any experience writing? Or maybe we should get up a petition with all of the facts of what they are putting us {the legitimate pain patients through) Get a few hundred thousand people to sign it and send it, But if we dont start doing something NONE of us will have any quality of life.

OAG pain consultants in downtown Portland are amazing!!!! Although you do need a referral to see them. As long as your PC doesn't give their 2 cents on what they feel is best for you and they let OAG take care of it. I've been going there since 2010.

Dearest Jennifer, First, and Foremost, I sympathize with your situation. Yes, people do discriminate, I know first-hand everything you are going through, and i WAS a pain management patient with a "Reputable" clinic here in Oregon for over 14 years. In fact, one of the Doctors there is running for GOVERNOR for the State of Oregon; anyway, they booted me out via a certified letter. But enough of that, I am posting a reply to hopefully help you with a few basics. I assume from your post, that you reside in the State of Washington. Get online and Google a search to see if the state of Washington has a "State Pain Management Commission" and once you get contact info, email AND CALL as well, tell them your story... Also put out a search query for Attorneys who deal with "MEDICAL ABANDONMENT"... even if your situation may not apply, they will open a chat for you, take your information and return your answers with a phone call, or email. And last...Don't give up Gal, i know from a long history of pain problems, that it is best to just HANG ON, try to be patient, as hard as it is...and believe for the best. I understand your frustration and anger, and most importantly, don't let anyone label you an addict. Stand firm without shame...and know many of us support you....Good luck sweetie, Mike in Oregon.

Is this thread dead? Needing a doctor that will prescribe pain medicine. After 17 years on oxycodone (40mgs-80mgs a day) at the end my doctor in Washington retired (was traveling from Portland Oregon to Olympia Washington about every 4 to 6 months) but my doctor retired... Anyone willing to share the name of doctors that actually still write pain meds scripts? After suffering for a couple months after my doctor retired I broke down and went to the methadone clinic. I'm hoping the methadone clinic didn't f***** my chance to get back on my pain meds because it's messing with my life having to go into the clinic every day to dose...I've seen people suggesting doctors in pain management clinics but the threads are so old.

Sandy I am from Portland too, did you find a Dr here in Portland and may I ask if you dot mind who or were? I went to kaieser and they are treating me horrible just horrible. I really need help, I have a rod, pins and screws in my back, and walk hunched over I can barley walk. thank you

I moved to Portland a year ago and needed a pain Dr. quickly. I went to a methadone clinic for the first time to get relief while I searched for a doctor. I had a hard time finding one that would take Medicare or Medicaid or new patients so I gave up. now I can't stand the clinic(I can't travel) and need to find a Dr. who will treat me. Any suggestions?

yes there are a lot of places who take Medicare I am on it Kaiser does but they suck. also a place called the dawn clinic look it up on your computer they will give anything

I am in the same situation with a methadone clinic!I broke my back in a car accident and have had multiple surgeries.I was with the same primary care doctor for 8 years on a pain contract with no problems.He closed his practice to do pediatrics and since then I have been through hell!The place I transfered to was a nightmare to say the least! I ended up getting pregnant and they dumped me at a methadone clinic so they wouldnt have to prescribe.(according to the clinic,they have done the same thing to a lot of other women who got pregnant while on pain medications.)I was told by my OB that I had to stay on the methadone or risk a misscarage.My daughter was born healthy but now Im having a hard time finding a doctor.The clinic wants me to transfer back to pain management since they only took me cause I was pregnant but Im having no luck.Ive never had a drug problem and the clinic is willing to talk to a doctor for me but I have to find one that is willing to take me.Any suggestions?Sorry about the long explination,its complicated!
