suffering from cronic headaches and neck pain due to a variety of events
Try Sellwood Medical Clinic. I have a rare heart condition and have had 6 major spinal surgeries. Keep it to yourself cause if they overloaded with patients....not good. The clinic is in SE Portland. Bring your records and just make a new patient appt.
I take methadone for pain and have on it for years. Never any incidents of abuse. Doc prescribes for 4 wks usually lasts 6 weeks. Doc says providence is making them take people off pain meds.any advice
Thats exactly what I think the goverment wether it be the dea whoever should not be dictating our healthcare.Reason we are going thru this is because of others who have abused pain med benzos died or overdosed i have severe issues been prescribed alot of meds n never came close to overdosing maybe their study needs to extend to patients who have been successful with pain meds not just abusers.I agree we need to get a bill or petition or town hall somethinh us complaing among one another is getting us no where
I think we need to set up a web site. (I dont know how to do this) Domeone to head up the web site and read it every day to get the stories from legitimate pain patients about things that have happened to them in a negative way because of being on these meds. Then from that make up the petition and put it on line to be signed. Just an idea. We have to do something
As I said I dont think the individual voice will do it. We need to ban together. I agree everyone is just complaining. I am willing to help with whatever is needed. As I asked before. Does anyone have experience writing? Or making up a petition. I think if a petion was well written we could do it on line and get hundreds of thousands of signatures. I have a sister in DC so if it needs to be presented in person I am sure she will do it for us. She knows how I have been treated just being on these meds.Anyone let me know and we can get started
YES I am with you I posted a reply a little while ago about this. I hate being on these meds but without them I have 0 quality of life. I to believe we need to get together and do something to stand up for ourselves, Does anyone out there have any experience writing? Or maybe we should get up a petition with all of the facts of what they are putting us {the legitimate pain patients through) Get a few hundred thousand people to sign it and send it, But if we dont start doing something NONE of us will have any quality of life.
Hi,
I liked youe message. We want to move to Or, But I have been reading all of these remarks and we are thinking about staying where we are, and we hate it here. We are in Mojave CA, But we have not had a problem getting our meds. I have RSD in both hands and my husband was working 7 days a week to save our when when one morning on his way to work was in an accident and broke his back. So after a few surgeries he to had to go on disability. Needless to say we lost everything. Does the Govern that worked I would give them up today. Anyway have you gotten anything together for people to go to to maybe sign a petition or whatever. I am thinking instead of talking about it maybe we could all get together and write something up to send to congress from our point of view. The DEA has been given WAY to much power. Deciding what people can and cant take for their medical condition.ment think people want to live like this. Lose everything they have. Be on pain medicine all of the time to to be able to do a simple task. Without it you just sit all day in pain. I hate being on it. I am on quite a bit of meds and If I could get a shot every mornring
it's not folks who abuse the system that's causing Doc's to withdraw from Rxing narcotic pain relief, it's the federal government who says both 1) "studies show..." and 2) we (the US) have an epidemic of pain pill users. This, our, government, who has recalled the license of Dr's who've continued to Rx narcotics patients.
It's shocking to see the medical profession cower at the hands of our government, but, if docs' want to continue practicing, they have little choice.
I tried to get an increase of my low dose Oxy, through the new specialized branch of medicine, the Pain Clinic$$$. I was given a choice of an antidepressant or "have a nice day"... "because studies show..." (what studies? conducted by whom?) I chose; 'have a nice day'.
I spoke to a psychologist who said these (psych) drugs are 5 times more expensive and 20% more addictive than the narcotics. She would not take them.
My doc told me psych drugs work the same as narcotics do. The Pain Clinic doc said the psych drug would take 30 days to know if it 'works' or not. That's conflicting 'data'.
I compared the Dept of Education results in our schools with the government's new control of our medical 'care'. The prediction is unfavorable, at best.
I'm angry, I hurt and I am concerned. I do not know what to do.
Moving to Portland, Oregon and looking for a pain management doc that will continue to prescribe my Morphine Sulfate, and Carisoprodol.
I'm looking for a Dr. that is compassionate and willing to help people with real pain. Chronic or accute. I have PBS/Interstitial cystitis. Extremely painful, no real social life, it affects all the people I love, if my husband had not stuck with me I don't know what would have become of me. I'm disabled because of it and I will still fight it. I don't want to be on painkillers but at this time I need help. Anyone out there know of a Dr. In or by Portland, Oregon that could help? Desperately Seeking
The current CDC prescribing "recommendations" explicitly encourages providers to avoid prescribing narcotic painkillers in conjuntion with CNS depressant, namely benzodiazepines. They dedicated an entire section where there is detailed discussion of associated risks increased morbidity when these classes of drugs are used together. While these drugs do have risks, there are safe ways to perscibe and monitor patients use. In my experience most doctors are too terrified to do so given these current CDC warnings and fear legal action might be taken against their license. My last provider would not, EVER!
However, one must acknowledge the CDC indicates ALL CNS depressants are increases such risks, and not just benzodiazepines. Although many doctors routinely prescribe alternatives to benzodiazepines that are still classified as CNS depressants. These include many allergy/cold, sleep, blood pressure, muscle relaxants, and antidepressant mediation to name a few. It's hard not to question the role of the CDC in all of this when only one drug class is discussed. Seems the influence our government has over our providers is preventing many from accessing safe individualized and quality the medical treatment for legit medical conditions. There has got to be a better way to limit abuse of such drugs while ensuring that our doctors can still take care of those who need it most without fear of retaliation from our government.
savino or quave are pain management docs that is what your going to needbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
Sellwood Medical Clinic. Leslie Gregory, a PA there who prescribes and does all MD STUFF; she is loud and hard to deal with REALLY but I know they rx. Please don't repost this.
thats why we all need to go to congress so they understand what is going on with pain patients
Yes it's a state that takes care of the people who have pain and need it. My doctor just stopped giving his people pain meds and told me to get them from er. So I went there and they say they can't be a pain manager for us people and I have been to pain management twice. I don't need to be told how to manage it. I know how to do that. I just need something to get me through the day not wanting to rip someone's head off. I just don't get it, they give methadone to all the junkys but can't help us. Is that what there trying to do to all of us? It's not humane to do what they're doing.
