Doctors Who Prescribe Pain Killers In Philadelphia (Page 7)

Updated

Hi,

My current doctor has decided that it would be best to stop my monthly prescription for 30mg percocets. I have chronic back pain from skiing injuries and other sports related problems. I have never abused or taken more than was suggested. I never got "high" and was always able to work and interact with clients in a positive way. Now without the medication, the pain is becoming a distraction. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't scared to prescribe common pain killers. They are produced for a reason, but recent uptake in illegal abuse has made doctors uneasy with long term prescriptions? I live in the Philadelphia area (main line) but I am familiar with the greater Philadelphia metro area. Thank you and kind regards.

why would u meet someone from the internet...this fourm is for people battling with chronic pain that need to find a doctor, not people who want to invite random junkies to there house to buy drugs....you gotta learn the hard way i guess, but now you know! get off the drugs if you dont need them!!

You are very lucky that you did not lose that much money or stuff. Why did you have $500 cash just laying around?

Thanks for the warning. I put away a good number of pills that I no longer take in case somebody got a similar idea.

Mr HELP, how do I go about getting an appointment? Do I just call and say I'm a new patient or do I say I have chronic pain. I know in the past if you say you have soon it comes off like you are trying to get meds. Or do I say I need a general check up? My current dr is in nj where I'm from. It's too far of a drive. I moved here when I got married. I have titanium in my neck from a surgery and will need another one. They went in through my throat to perform the surgery. What paperwork do I need? I have copies of most and I can get anything faxed from my attorney. It sucks that people who don't need meds ruined it for people like us who are just trying to lead a normal life. I'd appreciate any advice. Thank you all.

Dave, Dr. wean is a family doctor and also a pain management doctor, when you call dont talk about your injurys its just a Waste of ur breathe, call and explain that you are in need of a pain management doctor, you need your mri and progress reports from your injury and if you have proof of being prescribed narcotics that always helps, if you don't have your mri or progress reports dont even try, they will deny you, these doctors need this stuff to back up there own ass. But if you are really in pain and really have a legit injury he will hook it up, I get 180 oxycodone 30 mg and 60 OxyContin 80mg from him, ( NO ONE ASK ME TO BUY MY PILLS I DO NOT SELL THEM) but yeah Dave if ur legit he will hook you up, btw its cash only its 300 bucks a visit but well worth it, no insurence is accepted. Call tomorrow moring make sure you have all your paperwork together.

REWARD: RC PHILLY AKA ROBYN C RIPPED ME OFF FOR $500. She changed her phone number now. I'm offering a substantial cash reward for any information that leads me to find her. Her new number, real address, her correct last name (I know it begins with a C) anything that leads me to her so I can recover my money. If you have information reply to this post.

What type of proof do I need? My recent prescription bottles?? Do I goto pharmacy and something from them? I have a lot of my paperwork but not my MRI, I can get it from my attorney or the dr who did my surgery though. Thank you so much for your help! It's nice to see real people out here not just ones who are trying to get high and kill it for the truly injured

Donovan, you must show proof of ur injury, the doctor needs your mri its a must!!! And progress reports whitch are the things that ur old doctor would write down every time you saw him trust me if u contact your old doctor and tell him to fax it over to dr wean he will do it! And as for ur prescrption just bring in your old bottles the first time you go so the doctor knows what to give you ! If you don't hav ur mri or progress reports you won't even be able to make a appointment, its very important !!

Mr Help, a happy Thanksgiving! I called the office and she told me what to do. And you are a lot of help through this all. I am going to call my dr and my attorney to get all of my info to dr wean. I like that I am going to go into the office and not he surrounded by junkies like you see in a lot of dr offices. That's important to me to goto someone who cares.

you can see a Dr. Glenn Miller in South Philadelphia. just get a series of 3 back injections over a 1 yr period does not hurt at all. then presto you will get narcotics for the rest of your life no questions asked. indeed robert mosher PA actually does all the writing. good luck. if that fails see dr.Mark Mattozzo who will gladly write 4 u & everyone in your family

Hi I'm a contractor and have been for 20 years but I dont have insurance. My wife wants me to talk to a doctor about getting some kind of pain management. I dont have MRI's but I do have two bulging hernia's,bad shoulders, back and knees. But never been to a doctor. I have 4 kids from 8 yo to 15 months old so I can't afford to miss a day of work but the pain is unbearable at times. Does anyone know a doctor taking new patients in south Philly or so jersey area that will understand my dilemma? Thanks !

And this is to always working..if you don't have mri or injury report n progress report the doctor is going to call you a drug seeker and laugh at you! This day in age with all this s*** going on with pain killers and the dea the doctor has to follow very strict rules so he doesn't end up in chains and doing a 5 to 10 year bid! Trust me just go to ur family doctor tell him about ur pain then get a mri and once u go to ur family doctor he will tell u to go to a specialist who well check u out then write a injury report and once ur done that have him write u a referrl to see a pain management doctor! Its not a easy process it will take time.

It sounds like some of you are having to prove to a doctor that you have a condition requiring pain meds. If you have been to a doctor get a copy of your records. All doctors are suspicious of new clients who want pain meds.

Haverford mri its right off west chester pike in havertown. Just call and make a appointment since you don't have insurence Donavan its going to cost you anywhere from 500 to 800. But if ur legit in pain and need help its worth every penny. I dont have insurence either but you gotta do what you gotta do. Doctors need this paperwork to back them up. DEA is constantly checking up on pain management doctors considering that the pills on the steet are from doctors writing scripts. So its up to you what you wanna do Donavan but I would do it if I were you.
