Doctors Who Prescribe Pain Killers In Philadelphia (Page 64) (Top voted first)

Hi,

My current doctor has decided that it would be best to stop my monthly prescription for 30mg percocets. I have chronic back pain from skiing injuries and other sports related problems. I have never abused or taken more than was suggested. I never got "high" and was always able to work and interact with clients in a positive way. Now without the medication, the pain is becoming a distraction. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't scared to prescribe common pain killers. They are produced for a reason, but recent uptake in illegal abuse has made doctors uneasy with long term prescriptions? I live in the Philadelphia area (main line) but I am familiar with the greater Philadelphia metro area. Thank you and kind regards.

Hi i have protein c diffency this is a rare disease i have had many clots cuz of this illness,pulmenary embolism as well. I have herniated discs,sciatica,anthropology in legs and back arthritis ialso have two ripped meniscus. My feet are swollen all the time my calfs are so tight especially my left leg to my ankle from my sciatica .i am in excruciating pain i have had herniated disc for years bulging neck discs as well . I went to specialists many times to hear they will not do any surgery or needles in my back due to my protein c diffency cuz of all the blood clots i get its to dangerous to be off my lovenox ive been taking a very long long time and the rest of my life my blood is to thick.i take pain pills but ive been on same strength for over seven years fiftteens and oxycontin 20mg my pain is so severe im using a walker now my dr is a very nice person but is not comfortable upping the strength its not pain management. Im having a hard time finding a dr that takes my insurance and when i do they dont believe in pain meds.i also cant take no motron,tylenol,naproxin,toradal,asprin.i know my dr means well but this pain is way to intense im in so much pain i cry all the time from it .i called so many drs that either they dont take my insurance or they dont know much about protein c diffency that they al turn away please help i need to find a dr that will help me .is there any dr that will know and understand my situation my dr is trying the best he can be but just dont feel comfortable givving me anything higher mg than what im getting and i know that if it was raise a little higher it may help a little i would hope since surgery is no way possible all these drs are saying to me somebody please help me find a dr in Philadelphia, bucks county i can barelywalk .

Father God ,I thank u first nd foremost for allowing me one more day to read this message from RC..from SP..I 2was born nd raised there nd do to a untimely tragedy I moved to Bucks Co ..Since tell relocating I have suffer many SURGERIES ...Also losing my life ...I 2was prescribe pain meds under the my doctors care ...Never abused the meds ..It so happens that same DOCTOR recently retired so I'm n so much pain ..My prayer today is Lord make the connection with myself nd ND UR Servant RC n SP n 2EXISTED ,FATHER GOD I COME AGAINST EVER TRICK OF THE ENEMEY IT IS N UR SWEET AMEN.....

Your doctor has taken you off percocet because he/she feels you do not need it anymore. In my practice, I never prescribe opiate meds to anyone unless they have cancer. Even then, I try alternate drugs to help. Opiate drugs make the pain worse and do not help with pain management at all. Your doctor is doing the right thing and should never have prescribed opiates in the first place. Studies now suggest opiate medication worsens pain as it cover up the symptoms and just addicts the patient to narcotics. Reading some of these posts, yours included, suggest to me that you are seeking the opiates because you are addicted and dependent on them. Just stop taking them. You will be uncomfortable for a few days but after the "withdrawl" symptoms you will be fine. Find alternate ways of coping with your pain such as exercise, meditation, etc. Stay away from opiates.
